sgtjackass
Hey guys Girlfriend in Hastings car has a serious oil burning issue, i have isolated the problem, and she has the replacement part. Its a tiny wee gasket that lives under the rocker cover. See here http://www.google.co.nz/imgres?q=13271- ... 0,s:0,i:66 Anyway it needs to be changed. I did a dodgy side of the road repair to this gasket to get us home, so the gasket silicon needs to be pulled off, and the new gasket just shoved on. seriously a 5 minute job that only requires a philips screwdriver. If i knew anyone/anymen in hastings i would ask them but alas... Anyone keen to help a sheila in need? PS why do some guys not know anything about mechanics... seriously this would be the easiest job in the world, yet friends in hastings dont know what a rocker/valve cover is, or what a philips screwdriver is. G Give me strength...

sgtjackass
Cheer bud found someone abit closer. On a similar note, what conditions contribute to the crazy hardening of rubber seals in modernish motors? The seals on this motor were so brittle, flexing them cause them to snap like a twig.
