ProZac
This is totally a moot point, since i dont actually have a ford EDIS system in anything... Buuuuut. Talking four cylinder here, but my question applies to all variants; They use a 36 less 1 wheel to detect crank position. Sweet, makes sense. How does the unit determine which stroke cylinder 1 is on, and thus which set of coils to fire? I mean, surely TDC firing on 1 looks exactly like TDC exhausting on 1...? Its probably glaringly obvious and staring me in the face, but In my caffene induced haze, I cant see the answer... Anybody out ther shed some light? Chur. thegreatestben
I wasn't sure of the EDIS system having never used it but alarm bells in my head were ringing ...hmm sounds a lot like wasted spark to me. Glad you've nutted it out
Spencer
Haha! yea you need two speed/position sensors to run sequential/coil on plug style ignition
