macd0g
so, im pretty sure the timing is off on my car, the acceleration is quite, "unsmooth(?)" i dont seem to be able to find the points gap anywhere. my timing itself is supposed to be 3 or 4 btdc, but that is all i know spark plug gap? i have fited new distributor cap, rotor arm, points, condenser and ht leads recently, but it still is not much better, im sure it just needs a good tune i have a 1983 toyota corona. 3t-eu engine 1.8l(1770cc) i have been looking for a while, but i cant find anything. *since looking further, i have a TT141* anyone in hamilton willing to help out with the practical side of things could earn themselves a few beers too thanks in advance

macd0g
checked all vacuum lines, having taken the distributor cap off, followed by the rotor arm, then a rusty tin shield, there is a 'square' shaped shaft , which opens and closes the points. the gap is adjustable via a little screw-like knob on the outside of the dizzy, just wondering the correct distance. i replaced the dizzy cap, rotor arm, points and condenser and ht leads recently. fulloc
you'll need a feeler gauge, should be about 0.4mm to 0.5mm i think.
