Guest mfordy
Nice haul of pressies. Where to the links run that you bought? What is the kit? I read an article in Retro Ford that was impresed with an "A Frame" set up, but Burton's don't list it. The "A Frame" links run from the front spring hangers to just either side of the bottom of the diff head. Not sure if they have another name? Its a standard 2 link or anti-tramp kit. Mounts from just behind front spring hangar to new brackets welded on top of the diff housing I ended up buying the gear from Classic Rally in Ireland. Was cheaper than Burtons and had better postage deal. $165 for a quick rack!.. Looking at your cage, do the backstay's go close enough to the bend on the main tube? I thought they needed to be closer? Right on the limit
Guest shaneo
It's looking ever closer to joining us on a track day. Might check out Classic rally when I go home Burtons charge a lot for freight.

Just upgraded my tow wagon so funds still pretty tight but I'm hoping to be out there shortly. Check out www.classicandrally.com. They haven't got the entire range Burtons have but postage was definetly cheaper. 56 GBP for a 20 kg box of bits.

Might come down for a look though. Isn't there a law about how many escorts you're allowed to own?.

mfordy
Looking really good like the leaf springs . Who done you gear box cut down ? How much did it cost? Hill climb this weekend you coming? Thanks Shane. Yeah starting too see some progress now. Gearbox was a joint effort between Subway Automotive in Pukekohe and a local fabricator. I had some extra work done on the gearbox but all up the mod would have been around $300. Hoping to get the LSD and brakes all finished this weekend so no, wont make the hillclimb - next year! shaneo
Where did all that come from? How did it handel on the track? What sort of times did you get?
mfordy
Where did all that come from? How did it handel on the track? What sort of times did you get? 2 litre catch can full after 2x 15 minute sessions... Seems the crankcase is getting pressurised and basically leaking oil from every orifice including the rocker cover???. Not quite sure how to sortout/proceed at the moment. Probably a leak down test first. Anybody got any suggestions? Handling/braking was surprisingly good and I seemed to be able to brake way later than many of the late model jappers I was on the track with. Lap times weren't being recorded as only a "playday" but I think 1:30 based on cars around me. Damn it was good while it lasted.
