SP450andLE
When I took the Lada offroad a little while ago, it broke. It wouldn't rev, and when it did manage to rev, as soon as I went to move it would cough and stop. I have now replaced the distributor cap, rotor, points ans condensor. I have also replaced the plug leads, spark plugs a reset the static timing. It now starts, but only runs for a few seconds, then cuts out on its own. It cuts out quicker if I put my foot on the accelerator even a tiny little bit. Fuel is getting into the carb, so probably not a fuel starvation problem. Why is it doing this?! I'm sick of it! ryanfels
Has a air line popped off from all the jumping around?
SP450andLE
Air line? Like... A vacuum thing? I just checked all the vacuum-related stuff, and all seems to be in good order. I just wish everything could be fixed by kicking it
Borgweiser
Blocked jet, strip carb, clean and go
davidian
if you've got the standard lada carb i'll bet you any money that this is the cause. specifically the solenoid hanging of the side of it. get a new one of these. or replace with Webber as per Baxter's site. or inject. SP450andLE
I magically fixed it! I played around with everything, and it eventually started and ran well. Just a few more tweaks with timing and fuel, and it should be sweet.
DavidTheCreator
do you know what the problem was?
SP450andLE
I short, no. It could possibly have been something to do with the float chamber thingy, it seemed to be somewhat seized. But tbh, I just played around with it and made good things happen...
