Gaz
What about a mazda diff? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 907252.htm Stud pattern is close enough to 4x108 & can get LSD heads too. Gaz

Valiant
Is the VL gear interchangeable with XA falcon stuff? I have a 2.92 XA falcon diff sitting in my shed. Would a XF LSD head go into the XA housing? I am a bit ignorant on Borg warner obviously.. You can use VL gears in an XA housing with an XF lsd center. It's not a straight swap though. I'm not sure about LSD centers that used 2.77 gear sets thoughhttp://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me ... 669107.htm your XF LSD would work well in this. How does the place in Hamilton intend to shorten the axles? for $400 i'm picking they will be cutting and welding them. What about a mazda diff?http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 907252.htm Stud pattern is close enough to 4x108 & can get LSD heads too. Gaz Be carefull though LSD centers for these could be expensive, it will probably have rotary suitable 4.1/1 ratio too.
wickmyster
Cheers, You've been I mega time saver Valiant Will check how he shortens them, is cut an wielding bad? I will still be under 200hp so will it matter? How do they do it normally? I know other people that do it cheap as my cousin is an engineer...I might get a quote from him to shorten a diff Also Bruce Greer near Waihi (in waikino) is meant to be very good, and that is closer the Hamilton. Gaz
Proper way is to shorten + re-spline the axle. Welding will be fine if done properly. Gaz
Valiant
+1. Welded axles work fine when they are done well. Often factory axles don't have enough meat on the shafts that the splines can be recut further back. I know Borg Warner VL and XF axles are like this. Resplining costs more too.
