Seedy Al
hey guys So currently working on a Kawasaki KLF300 Quad,, with a 4 stroker and am having problems trying to locate a random miss in the engine. Every so often it will pop back through the carb, and other times you can feel it in the frame miss but not back fire or anything. How likely is it that the Chain tension is slack to casue this sort of stuff? Real not keen to pull off all the cowlings unless I have to haha Also, with the ispection holes on the side for the oil, are they meant to be full to the top? i put in the amount of oil it says on the crank case but does not seem to be very full Love CDL
johnnyfive
Like a sight-glass for the oil? If there isn't a line on it just get it in the middle of the glass with the bike level and I'd say you're about right.
racepics
The oil should be half way up the sight glass with the quad on level ground. As for the pop back through the carb, this can caused by a lean condition or a valve not seating etc. Check, valve clearances. Check for vacuum leaks around the engine side of the carb mount. Strip and clean the carb if you haven't already. Of course you've already done the obvious like throw in a new spark plug and checked the plug-cap....
