DavidTheCreator
my old lady has a a32 cef with a vq25de in it, it has just had the belts and belt tensioner changed but is still making this squealing noise, and the funny thing is, it only makes it after it has been driven for a while. never does it in the morning when cold, only on the way back from work in the evenings. any help would be much appreciated

bigfoot
do they have the same oil dripping rail thing over the cams as sr20's do? if so they are probably blocked and the squeek coming from the cams. i know of a few sr20 motors that have destroyed heads/cams because of that
DavidTheCreator
i have a feeling that they do, but its weird how it only does it in the arfternoons and when it has reached operation temp.
dr_ed
Is it a squeal or a whistle, If it is similar to SR20 could be cam lobe oiler's, its very common in earlier model SR20's (as said) and they squeal ( pull rocker / cam cover off and you can check if they are blocked or there is black oily gunk on / in them) The other Issue I had that I couldn't figure out was my car again SR20de would sometimes whistle / squeal while at idle (mostly when sitting in traffic when hot i.e. motorways etc), and sometimes only when you turn the engine off it would let off a small squeal / whistle sound, finally figured out that water pump was on its way out. (but I would presume that would have been done when belts were done) I know its not the same engine but could be possibly similar.
