Thanks a lot.

I'm not sure what I paid for the zincing, sorry. I know I paid for the chroming of a few bits, but I have a feeling that the guy did my dad a favour and did the zincing for me for free. It was done somewhere here in Hamilton, so I could find out some more info from my dad if you like?

Spend the $10k on the house deposit.

You'll thank it for me later.

Yeah, this would be the logical thing to do. :|

The IRD were kind enough to give me a $3000 tax refund today, so that's going straight into the house deposit fund.

Oh really? I owe them money, damn it.

But if it'll cost ya $10k, and your willing to spend the money, figure out which is more of a priority, commit, and don't look back.

EDIT: that should say, whats this need to be finished?

If you choose to keep this and need a hand putting it back together/finishing it just sing out, more than willing to help.

I made a quick list of things that I could think of off the top of my head:

Racetech 1000 seats (x2)- $1,100.00

Alloy seat brackets - $220.00

Quick release steering mechanism - $60.00

Exhaust - $1,200.00

Filter - $80.00

IDA throttle body - $1,000.00

Intake manifold - $200.00

Link computer - $1,825.00

Braided brake lines - $100.00

Front brake calipers - $450.00

Wiring - $1,000.00

Oil cooler - $300.00

Little bits and pieces - $1,000.00

Tyres (x2) - $250.00

Tuning - $800.00

Labour - $2,000.00

Certification - $600.00

Total - $12,185.00

I'm sure I'll be able to get a few things cheaper than what I've stated above, but there will also be things that I haven't accounted for too.

uhhhh righto. Is the intention for this to be a road car or a race car? or a grey area cross over?

The other thing is selling one car would allow you to fund the other or a house.

Do you have your original wiring loom?

When I started building this car, my intention was to create a street registered weekender that would be a bit of fun at the track. I suppose that plan hasn't changed at all, but back then I didn't know that I'd end up with a dedicated track car with the Pro7 RX-7 too.

Selling the Series 1 hasn't really seriously crossed my mind, and I would like to finish it one day. Once I start something, I will generally finish it - no matter what the cost. Even when I was fucked financially a couple of years ago, selling this car wasn't an option. With the amount of money that I've put into this car already, I'd only get a fraction of it back if I sold it.

Yep, I still have the original wiring loom. It's been cut up a bit, but is still quite clearly labelled.

Hah we have the same problems :D

yea theres definately ways to save $$ in that list, like with the wiring.

I do guess you would have sold it by now if you were going to.
