Elmo2003
Hey guys and girls i have a a W50 gear box running on my 2ltr pinto motor in my MK2 escort running some really high compression and i am having trouble with it starting my starter motor seems to have trouble turning over the engine (Battery is in the boot) wondering if there is any thing that can be done to solve this problem i have heard of torque reduction starter motors but unsure of wot kind i can use on my gear box Would going to some sort of New style Jap starter work since they use less power to crank over any help would be great cheers Daniel
lowlancer
Try a higher cranking amperage battery? What size cables you using? Should bump up a size to about 2AWG for longer runs. The earths all good?

sholdowa
if you're still running a ford starter, then the small bosch ones off sierras / scorpios are high power and work much better on modded engines.
