Popular Post RUNAMUCK
Got the carb back this afternoon. All freshly kitted and ready to sprinkle atomized dinosaur juice down a hole where it will meet its firey doom.
Popular Post RUNAMUCK
Carb reinstalled to engine. Unfortunately when I removed the carb, the E clip that holds the kickdown arm in place pinged off to never be seen again land. So a new one will have to be acquired. 12
Popular Post RUNAMUCK
I got the fuel tank back from being cleaned out. Three days sitting filled with some caustic solution. And a day and a half after that filled with citric acid. (Apparently the citric acid neutralizes the caustic) It's a fuckton cleaner inside than it was. Unfortunately looking inside I've spotted two small holes. The galv coating on the outside has been fretted off by the tank strap. This combined with probably some road dust accumulation has resulted in a bit of corrosion. It's likely fume free now, so won't be too hard to fizz up. I'm also going to change the fuel pick up. But I'll do a more in-depth post about that another time. Here's a shitty photo. (Just in case you have a burning desire to know what a valiant fuel tank looks like)
