Lowering blocks...in the front

I stumbled upon this on the e-nets, putting lowering blocks in the front of your car. This one is model specific for the 51, all details here.

Say I use 1 inch blocks, naturally I will lose that much travel yeah? Since its just moving the bottom spring mount down by an nich etc. And my springs have already had the hitachi treatment, so might run out of length there.

What do you reckon? Legal/safe?

Looks all legit and pretty straight foward to do, but to me why wouldn't you just cut the springs, make custom springs or even find something else from another vehicle to fit that has a similar rate if you don't want to cut your hard to find ones. It will look tidier and less modified that installing the plate and will also raise the spring rate slightly, which is an advantage when lowering vehicles.
