Leebo3
I stumbled upon this on the e-nets, putting lowering blocks in the front of your car. This one is model specific for the 51, all details here. http://www.okchristianrodsandcustoms.co ... blocks.pdf Say I use 1 inch blocks, naturally I will lose that much travel yeah? Since its just moving the bottom spring mount down by an nich etc. And my springs have already had the hitachi treatment, so might run out of length there. What do you reckon? Legal/safe? sheepers
i reckon if you do it right and use good HT bolts it will be safe, but i cant tell you if it will be legal. best to talk with an engamaneer about the legal bit. sheepers.
slipsittin
The only trouble with that set up is the altering of the travel for your shock valving. Sometimes you can make problems for yourself by doing this sort of mod. I have seen it done and it turn out ok but the guy used adjustable shocks. Leebo3
Righto thanks, kinda good that if it does turn to shit pretty easy to swap back. Would rather do lowering blocks than the old swap and flip spindles and heat them like its hot so it drops it like its hot.
mikuni
Looks all legit and pretty straight foward to do, but to me why wouldn't you just cut the springs, make custom springs or even find something else from another vehicle to fit that has a similar rate if you don't want to cut your hard to find ones. It will look tidier and less modified that installing the plate and will also raise the spring rate slightly, which is an advantage when lowering vehicles. Leebo3
True dat Brad. My falcon ones are exactly the same anyway, so thats quite convenient. i can go lower if I go for some different shocks, which I might just do that.
