MichaelJFox
It's out of a 92 Volvo 740GL. Guy at Repco called the manufacture said the Volvo CD loom/iso thing should work with all the adapters. Negetive.(Which was a little too obvious) I had pulled a plug out of the hole labeled AMP, which confuses me because I am pretty sure there's no amp, unless its a factory thing for the 6 speakers. I've just had the interior out and didn't see anything. Also, there's a CD input, using some old school s-video looking plug, is that essentially just an audio in? Here's some pictures, thanks a bunch to any reply. Otherwise I'm just gonna crimp the wires as per usual, but this 6 channel thing is intriguing. Brock-Lee
cd plug is for a stacker to plug into. amp plug will most likely plug into the cars stock amplifier /durty will most likely correct me. lol
MichaelJFox
I was thinking the same thing Brock. On trademe I can see a 6 CD stacker for about $20. Seams like that'd be a winning idea. Says its a 8-hole-round-plug?! Bit of a loose description but sounds similar haha.

durty
i have a free one out of a volvo, will get pics of cable if ya want, also, im pretty sure it should have a standard amp somewhere
MichaelJFox
Would gladly take either of those if the cables look correct? Would pay postage etc. EDIT: I'm also just assuming this works. When I tried to run it last time I had a battery in, it just said "OFF" on the screen when I turned it on?
durty
hmmmmm, my spare one is different but im pretty sure can be modded to work

LAN_KILLA
as said the CD will be for connecting to a CD stacker the amp one is pretty much the equivilent to 4 RCA PreOuts, just in a DIN formation. Can probably find/make an adaptor for it so you can just run standard RCA into a better amp if you ever wanted to up grade... It looks to be 4ch, doubt it would be 6ch, but is possible, but highly unlikey. The off thing will be because its been disconnected and will require a code to get it going again... contact volvo
MichaelJFox
Ah yea. Sweet, wasn't aware about the RCA thing. Yea, its running 6 speakers, so I don't know whats going on. I read the manual and apparently its meant to say "CODE" if it needs the code, but I only get "OFF", so I don't know. If anyone wants to donate a cd stacker send a PM
LAN_KILLA
what are the 6 speakers? I would assume 4 front and 2 rear... but what sort of combination, like front componets (6" + tweeters) with rear 2/3 way 6" s or some sort of arrangement. Would assume that there are 4 speakers on the front chanel and 2 on the rear... or vice versa
MichaelJFox
Uh nah, strangely there's 6.5's in each door, and what looks to be 2.5's in the dashboard, on top. I thought they'd be tweeters too, but nah, they're just tiny speakers.
