My name is Russell
STOCKED ish Spent 3 odd weekends doing ALLOT of head scratching as to what was wrong with brakes, Aidan consulted Less hunter for me a few times and we eventually worked out the callipers were upside down after 100's of attempts at bleeding i flipped then over bleed up once as she was rock solid first shot. Cheers to Aidan and Duncan for the help.

My name is Russell
Windows fitted (still need to put two straps on rear windscreen) Dynod at http://www.shredindustries.co.nz today 152Kw, Highly Highly recomend them, they went well out of there way to make sure everything was working properly. In some ways relieved its lower power figure than anticipated so that i can work my way up, he pointed out lots of simple stuff that i can do to have some decent gains to get to 200kw but for now what its at is good. First race 23rd jan seaview sprints . . . looking achievable now!
My name is Russell
Hopefully these Vids can be viewed? http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php ... 4847501093 http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php ... 2980833613 Did a 1.29 then a 1.21 then a 1.14 (After Kevin suggested i stopped holding the gears for as long and drifting so much) super super super wet conditions. confident could of taken another 5 seconds off if i had of gotten of the mark with 4th run as spent first two runs just testing out the car not rally focusing on geetting around the track quickly. 4th run had a big cloud of steam that spooked me so hit kill swith, turned out to just be water on the extractors as rain was super heavy. car is sitting 1.5 inch's to high on the frond as had to wind it up to clear the tiny amount of rub i was getting. Chefy going for a hoon Aidan, Chegan, Chegan's old man and myself all lined up Jase lining up

My name is Russell
Escorts been dropped off to get cage done by Steve at http://www.frostmotorsport.co.nz/ Hopefully have a 2 odd week turn around. Went to pickapart today and stumbled across a KIA SPORTAGE! Which is a 4WD with a RWD/North-South orientated engine which means it has lots of goodies for me. So pinched of it; Cams CAS Engine mounts A taller lead cover that will be good for hiding individual coil packs i will upgrade to later on. Oil angled spacer that will be very helpfull for space as the current oil filter location is not designed RWD. Only other thing i would like of it would be the entire head then could have coolant return of the front of the engine but a bit broke ass like normal. Unfortunately cant really use gearbox as it has a transfer case and is probably low ratio gears? So side project will be to build up a second engine with triple the power of the current one once i get a hang of driving and get the chassis settup well which will take a good year i guess. Also have some custom made adjustable cam gear on there way from USA. A F2F flywheel on is way from Australia A B2200 belhousing and S5 turbo Gearbox in Auckland i need to get sent down/pickup at some stage ^^^ all for stage two backup engine. Wonder if i should look into dry sump parts?

My name is Russell
Entered the final round eight of the Road&Track series, felt a bit less like a noob this time which feels good. Quite happy with how the car went, learnt a few lessons. Camber and a proper wheel alignment made the car go around corners 99.9% better! Car went really well the first 3 times out, was passing a few cars that was fun, then the 4th time out had a little electrical issue and looks like fuel pump has shorted out. Lesson 1; don’t get all the way to southwards car museum and remember you have forgotten your log book! Makes for a long day driving all the way back to Wellington for it, DOW won’t do that again! Lesson 2; (partly as a result of lesson 1) miss out on getting a transponder and then be a dyslexic retard put a 266 on the side of your car instead of a 226 and not get your times recorded Had the in car lap timer that had a 1.28 on it which I’m a little disappointed with but I don’t think i got any ful clean laps and didn’t want to be to aggressive with the passing as its not really supposed to be a race the sprints I was in (no passing on corners). Defiantly keen to get the escort along to a Friday test day and have a battle with the clock. Mechanical side, she was blowing a bit of smoke under heavy engine breaking by the final race. The two first things I suspect are I have put to light an oil in it (10 40) and the oils getting past the rings, which dropped the pressure at idle when hot and was bit scary but should be fine. Or the turbo has done a seal? Which i know this engine is known for doing to turbos, possible due to bad oil supply? Will need to do some research on turbos Electrical meltdown on final time out appears to be a shorted out fuel pump wire but still TBC hopefully it’s not anything to nasty. Very happy with how well the brakes are working! Aiden (as passenger & experienced driver) was impressed with them. Quite happy with the amount of power the car has also, just right for learning but enough that its not boring. Stiffened up the rear and she’s allot more stable in the bum now, getting a little bit of tramp launching but i think its tolerable, could probably refine launch technique from drift spec yo. Cheers to hayhole for the following pictures! And thanks to Aiden, hayhole, Mike & Nick for coming along
My name is Russell
Ripped out some wiring which was a little scary Re wired with an extra relay so that each pump has its own Added a few more fuses, all back together and she started first pop yay. Not that tidy but should do the job. 2.75Kgs down Now to work out whats causing the engine to smoke so much, will pull turbo out tomorrow. Aiming to get the car ready for 30th March test day at Manfield then hopefully attend the old school trackday a few weeks later at Taupo.
