My name is Russell
Clutch center changed, clutch release thing turned up and fluids for box on standby. On sat we spent the day running around trying to find the correct bearings, steel for turning up and got on my hand and knees to get the bit turned up, Things were going well, we had this spacer turned up to accept the shorter input shaft inside the flywheel Aidan was happy we thought we were right on track. . . then things went bad! As soon as we went to fit everything under the car we realized fairly quickly we had made a colossal stuff up due to an assumption the back the the crank was flat. It had a lip for the flywheel to seat onto and also meant the bearing wasn't brought forward at all so no use anyway. Manu to the rescue!!! one talented man! thanks heaps bro! And cheers to Aidan who has dedicated his weekend to helping! And thanks KK for checking out the driveshaft.
My name is Russell
Time to drop the woodwork tools and take a break from house renovations for a few weeks. Still to be ducted to turbo. Why the escort was running so Slow at Oldschool Taupo trackday. Cracked manifold from to low exhaust therefore no boost. Not that happy with how it looks un symmetrical so might have to get a cage to do the other side, unless I can come up with something else? ideas? Function over form Note to self make adapter through inner guard like so http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-par ... 452694.htm Anyone got a large hole punch and flaring tool for valance. any tips for doing with holesaw? My name is Russell
Dust improves paintjob CHEERS FOR THE PICTURES 'A Bunch of Guys with Cars (BGC)' Took my partner out twice, I don't think she approved of my taking it easy. 1st and 2nd time kept missing 3rd gear and was far to tail happy but had fun 3rd time out thought i had nailed it until i was meters from Finnish line and spun out. 4th time out something went peer shaped and the rear end had a mind of its own. took out a few cones and mounted a curb. Thanks for organizing Hutt Valley Motorsport Club Inc, dry road this year made it allot more enjoyable.

My name is Russell
I'm looking forward to driving this and not having the zorst dragging on the smallest of bumps. The day it rubs I think I will have more serious issues! New Exhaust system made today. Gearbox crossmember re done and tunnel welded and seam sealed. Brush on seam sealer is the way of the future!
Guest LOW'N'SLOW
Went to change dump pipe gasket, broke a studd, removed turbo to get to it, decided to do turbine inlet gasket, two stripped bolts, Dow. 3 turbos into one and all back together with new thread tapped/studd welded in. Did main manifold and bottom dump pipe gasket while at it. Welded up a bunch of cabin holes. Twin clamp extinguisher fitted. Silly fouling bolt sorted. New, bigger better driveshaft loop, after seeing one do/not do its job on youtube, new one has less tolerance to dance around if put to use. Modified tramp bar as old one had half ripped off body and bent a substantial sized bar, to much Powaaaa. if new one doesn't work might be linked rear end knocking at my door. could be something to get on OE Oil change All the fun stuff. New trailer is going well, just need to weld on some better strapping points, speaking of which, anyone seen the 4 truck strops? No idea what I have done with them. Made a new gear-stick boot. bit better.
Guest LOW'N'SLOW
Trackday didn't go to well . . . Dug a bit deeper Gearbox adapter is holding up well from 3 events all be it the last one short lived. Flywheel looks like it may require a clean up Haven't seen an empty engine bay for some time Have a very very large whiteboard list of things to do! But wont be doing to much any time soon as saving for OE now. If in wasn't for dohcturbo626 would probably be looking at saving for front cuts for different motor but after speaking him i have new faith in Fe's. Guest LOW'N'SLOW
What could this be from? All 4 cylinders had sign of similar wear. bore, rings etc still mint. From multiple blown turbos? Has only been exhaust side turbos have failed. Looks like little bits of square metal filings Should be able to re use these Check out the oil pump! Very nifty! Is not very thick either, really light. Stuff like that
Guest LOW'N'SLOW
OPTION 1 Go all out and try for some good reliability Cams ground + Solid lifters - $1500 Clean bottom end $500 Adjustable cam gear fitted - Already have New wing sump + pickup New turbo $1100 http://www.facebook....elevant_count=1 Link G4 $2500 Tune $800 4 coil packs $400 Injectors $600? Electronic boost control solenoid $130 G4 installation kit $200 0-150 PSI Oil Pressure sensor $215 Inlet air temperature TPS Throttle body W box? Adapter $300 Clutch $1000? Box $600 Driveshaft $150 T = $9995 give or take. probably more give OPTION 2 Or just buy something like this (would even have working speedo i presume.) SR20DET black top. http://www.trademe.c...n-583104555.htm I do quite like the Fe3, strong from factory, heaps around, cradle bottom end, oil sqirters. Good head once lifter and cams sorted. Is fun having something different to a degree. OPTION 3 Or just spend weekend slapping another std motor in after good looking over, for now, learn a bit more about them, test new sump has resolved oil issue. And save up for decent OPTION 1 settup.

Popular Post My name is Russell
Plan was getting this going completely std for some good reliability and working on getting the brakes/handling/driving kills nailed down then eventually go turbo power again on this or the Fe3. Good idea? and got me another bike, to do contrasting bikes. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/24142-low-n-slows-mk1-2door/page-69
