Yowzer
Also known as A340E Does anyone know anything about these? The only info I've been able to find so far is the gear ratios. I figure they must be able to take a bit of power as they were bolted up to the 1UZs and 2JZs, but any idea what their shifting is like, what power they can take and how the electric control works? I think its just electrically engaged overdrive, but dunno for sure. I have one sitting around which I'm thinking about sticking in the crown, but I wanna know a bit more about it 1st. Ratios; A340E: 2.804 1.531 1.000 0.705 Dunno what reverse is though. Cheers

Spencer
Theres about 1 million different versions of this trans from the simple mechanical versions to full electronic 6 speeds of today there all loosely based around the same thing. If you get a turbo 2jz, 1jz or some uz ones they have extra clutches, theres basic diy mods you can do to up the pressure and make it punch through the gears real hard. Theres a heavily modified one behind a 10sec 1jz in Australia so they can handle the punishment pretty sweet. Is the one your thinking of using from the 7m I sold you? because good luck controlling the shift without an after market controller or some hefty trans/micro controller knowlegde. Seems like the hard option when a w50 is not much more than a couple hundy
Yowzer
Yeh 7Ms one's the one. Ah ok, sounds like a bit of work then. I wanna keep it auto coz I've got nowhere to stick a gearstick. Sorta defeats the purpose of having bench seats if ya got a stick pokin up through the floor/seat

CaMpylobacter
^ lol'd I'm looking into slamming an mx73 4 speed at mine. if you've got toyoglide box it'll shit top gear and that's all. the later borgwaner made ones (toyoglide are jsut BW designed) they're longer lasitng. but yuh. I want 4 spd for better ratios. 3spd spaces between the gears far too much
