Engine starting problems

corrupt

Recommended Posts

problem still to be fixed, this weekend will be when that happens, when i got more than an hour of daylight to fix and appco/repco are open and have the brushes in stock etc...

i did retard the timing back to the standard 8btdc and it did help, but did not solve the problem....

on removal of the old starter motor i noticed it looks pretty fucked. the bendix gear? was pretty loose on the shaft, there was a loose ring/washer on the shaft which looks like it has come loose from where the shaft mounts at the end, and there was also a half cirlce ring thing which looks to have broken off something, maybe a circlip or something. oh well, put in a starter i found in the garage and its all sweet now, its a pretty noisey starter motor but :(
