Ogre
Right, this is a "bolt in" thing huh?Anyone know the difference?I know the starion rotors are larger, and i figure the caliper is larger and i cant us the 1800GSR caliper with them.Anyone know if the offset is also the same with the starion rotors? rxtoy
why you doing that???? still can't find the brake pads you need???? i got mine from ABC (automotive brake and clutch) in takapuna auckland, just went in and they had them in stock. discs will go straight on, not sure about callipers. starion struts are direct replacements, just you'll end up with about 5 degrees more camber. cheers Matt
CaMpylobacter
already massive camber. fuck having any more. if you're stuck for pads then i can get the old ones rebonded with whatever compound you're after.. mintex 1144 is on the pug, and rules... if you can handle the brake dust
Ogre
pads arnt a problem, im gonna get metal kings or whatever they called.I cant get discs, the min is 16mm and the depest grove is 16mm so im only gonna hav 1 go at machining them, then its time for replacement, just wanting to know whats involved in the starion discs as i think you can still get them from mitsi.dont wonna do a whole strut change as ive just spent $800 ont he front shocks and springs etc and already have a heap of camber coz they are the GT struts. isnowi
if you are worried about replacing discs, then starion may not be the best idea either, the best price i've been able to get is about $200 each, that was even with a green card discount a ripco. If you can get them cheaper let me know, cos i might be a starter for some. cheers
ProZac
Repco can only get DBA ones from aussie, even on staff prices they're a fucking rip, trust me. Have a check on http://www.austarion.com and see what the boys there are doing for starion rotors, someone on there will be able to send you a set. isnowi
even through local supplies i haven't been able to find anything less in price, poopercheap claimed to be able to get them for $60 each, however there is an error in their book that states a starion has the generic 264mm mitsi rotors that are found on most of the later fwd's. Bnt were on the same sort of price level as repco. I may just wait for another to show up at the wreckers, and snaffle the rotors to resurface them. Assuming they are till thick enough. Sorry for the TJ, but i think it is relevant.
Ogre
i went to a proper brake specialist place and he couldnt even find anything with the same dimensions as the GSR ones,They have a weird offset, its real small. Im gonna machine them for now and keep searching for somthing to relace them.Dont really have any need to go to some big ass aftermarket things or anything. Starion discs have a larger diameter aye?So cant us them with the GSR caliper?
