I run at least 10.5:1 and its fine on 98. Its even ok with 96. I want to go up to 10.8ish:1. Im building a new engine so will do it then with new head. When I went into a ford rally place in Welly I told them I was running 10.5:1. They responded that you need more but it won make that much differance. Id say 10.5 is a safe and realistic cr. peteretep
whats the relationship with higher compression and higher octane?
lowlancer
Higer octane=less likely to detonate under presssure. Like can take more pressure and a mean spark
peteretep
cheers, good to know
Gaz
Could run on c-16 race gas
RT
Higer octane=less likely to detonate under presssure. Like can take more pressure and a mean spark yep.. not to be confused with 'making more power' higher octane doesn't make more power. It allows you to make more power. so all the kids pouring octance boost into their standard civics are wasting their money lol

Gaz
hey Methodz100was wondering wot u did to raise ur compression? 1600 head and then got it machine to drop compression. Just 1600 head standard is too high. Might be up for sale soon.
