Gaz
man, screw paying that much to do it. DIY ftw. lol yeah. Im going to get someone to weld the axles for me. Ill do the rest. Should cost way less.
OSC
apparently its $400 to shorten the axles alone the casing isnt do hard to shorten providing ur not a complete fuckwit and relocating the axle mounts isnt too hard either. my advice is just to get the axles done professionally and shorten the casing/relocate mounts/connect up the brakes yourself
SYKOV6
the only thing about DIYin it is u have to get the housing PERFECTLY straight . even a few thou out and u will be foreva replacing bearings and the spider gears take a real hammering when side loaded from the axle

SYKOV6
most of the pros use a thick bar with cones on the end which locate thru the axle bearing shells and in the middle thru the diff head bearing shells this holds the housing straight with all the bearings perfectly in line
Gaz
Might leave the welding to the pros then. I will do brackets and handbrake
