My track car

Ive taken my Lancia Delta off the road now, an am thinking of turning it into a track car.

How would i go about getting a homologated cage made up? Approximate prices for full cage?

Im also wondering weather focusing on suspension or increasing horsepower will produce quicker lap times

Any advice appreciated

cheers Andy

yea my mate got his cage done in hisdrift car there. about same pricing as above and its very well done. also for those of you who read performance car magazine, in the "race" issue this month, the blue s13 v8 twin turbo, Boyd did the conversion i think. i recommend him highly.

as for suspention/engine upgrades, as long as you keep things open for plenty of further modifications and development, keep a simple package( a good reliable engine) and you cant go wrong. my advice is to make sure you keep in mind future development so you dont do things twice, and this way you will save money.

Brakes! get it to stop fast and keep stopping without fade.

stay on the gas longer and outbrake everyone.

easy and cheap, some decent pads make a huge difference in braking potential. Can go silly and get drilled/slotted rotors, multi pot calipers ecy but they big dollars.

lose some weight. every 10 pound out of the car is as good as putting 1 horsepower in the engine (think its about 6kg=1kW)

its why a car goes faster on a 1/4 tank of gas compaired to 3/4.
