esky boi
Im getting the electronic ignition setup off a sierra.. when fitting the dizzy how can I get a static ignition timing setting to at least start and drive the car where I can get the timing set properly with a timing light?? Like with points you can just use the old lightbulb trick.. is there anything like this you can do to set up the electronic dizzy or is it just a matter of guessing? drftnmaz
the middle is always good for me then i adjust it by ear see if the revs go up ot down etc.... don't forget that need a matching coil for electonic dissys
esky boi
Yea man, got a coil for it as well. Hmm I think I know what u mean by the middle.. but Sierras dont have that little slot with the bolt going through it on the head where you can centre it and twist either way like most newer cars. Its just bolted to the block with a little clamp thing, sorta hard to explain, but yea

SYKOV6
that looks pretty easy just check if the later model wiring is the same colours if it is then go hard. would prolly pay not to mix early and late model parts together though
