Guest sdewyz
...quite simply, are 40mm twin Dellortos a good option for this 1600 engine on the 73 colt. Also had an idea of getting the standard twin carbs of a 4G52.At this point the Dellortos are quite easily optainable. Any useful comments appreciated.
lowlancer
To be honest, you should go for a single carb like a 32/36 if I'm not mistaken. Plentiful and cheap, easy to maintain compared to a twin carb. But then again..... Twin 40's I plan on getting a 32/36 for my 4G32, once it's manual

If you haven't done any headwork and don't have headers, then forget about it, it'll go through too much fuel and bog down and be a waste of time unless you jet the dello 40's really low. I would suggest going with the standard 4G52 twin carbs.
Guest sdewyz
while we're on the topic ,could the intake manifold be used also of the 4G52 or get one made? And thanks for the advice on the carbs.I think I'll go with the standard twin carbs of the 4G52 as I'm trying to keep the car original as possible. kyteler
I have absolutely no idea about compatibility between Mitsi engines but lowlancer probably does, if not him then there's bound to be someone on here who will know.
lowlancer
At a guess, I'd say no, but I wouldn't really know. Why don't you go for the 4G32 twin carbs?
