Jerm
Ok are 1600 clutches larger than 1300 ones? Cos i bought a 1600 cllutch kit.... Put a flywheel on and realised the pressure plate wouln't fit... the dowels for the clutch housing were to close together.... so i grabbed another flywheel i had and it seemed sweet... i think the only difference was that the clutch housing dowels wer spaced alot further out... so this must be a 1600 flywheel? and my other one was a 1300? anywyas i think its all sweet now... forgot to get some bolts to hold the clutch housing onto the flywheel though! and i fuckign hope i can find somewhere open tomorrow that sells them.... Its all basically done, just gotta get the fuel pump off the 1300... hopefully that all works out and i don't have problems with the carb and blocking off teh fuel return etc... The weather looks ok so it looks like i might get it into the car tomorrow. Or at least get started Cheers Jerm
Jerm
Fuck! it wa a mission getting the engine in... Can't get my clutch to work the pedal just hits the floor i think its cos the cable seems to be to long now... could the 1600 clutch housing be thinner than the old 1300 one? so the clutch fork sits to far forward? doe sthis mean i can use the 1600 clutch cable? does anyone have one? If you do and your inauck can you give me a call urgently! 0211554687
Jerm
Ok got it sorted now... except the exhaust does anyone know someone that is open today who will weld a small section of my exhaust on .. i had to cut it to bolt the extractors on... call me 0211554687 In the end i had to take the engineout again because the clutch i bought was wrong and the housing was about 7mm shorter than my old one which cause my clutch cable to seem to short therefor causing the clutch fork to sit to far forward and explaining my probs as above... so i used the old housing with the new pressure plate and it seems ok.. have'nt been for a drive yet though... Had heaps of help especially from Matt (mkcortina) thanks heaps man! Cheers J
Mr.Mk1
Blat into Repco and buy one of those Flexi Sleeve things that you tighten around the exhaust...this might be a good quick fix?
