Guest jwee
you do need to cut the sump to fit as im putting a 2L in my escort at the moment and have found that you do.
jinx
You can cut a section from the std escort sump and fit it into the 2L one. Makes a much tidier and almost std looking conversion.
RT
anyone got any more details on this sump mod? some pics or something?
Gaz
Id send you the pics of what iv done but im afriad i would get booted or just plain laughed at. Nah i got no camera. But ,mine is shit. only holds a half ass amount of oil. This time for the turbo motor i am thinking of cutting the middle of the cross member out and moving just the middle peice back to clear the standard sump. Cert guy said its all good so thatll be me. Guest kris
I got a 2ltr sump from Aus, so that's me sorted. Methodz100 I agree, the sump bowel is way too small - and I don't want to wing it. I'm fitting a remote oil cooler and huge remote oil filter to increase the capacity of the system (and also to make changing the filter easier and to keep the oil cool of course ). Still, need a cert for 2ltr conversion, so that's $300 odd to add to any costs you expect.
Jerm
yeah thats the way... how did you organise the 2L sump?

Guest kris
I responded to an advert on Bud's forum, or the works escorts forum and the guy posted it over. A wanted add would no doubt work as well. Came to AU$150 incl postage, for new mounts, sump and pickup. The pickup was the expensive bit, $75 by itself. The Escort 2ltr is still common over there. I also got a RS2000 dash and steering wheel the same way. Kris.
