If any of you are interested, I would be more than happy to find out prices/book accommodation as a group booking, would just need an idea on numbers -

As mentioned, this place kicks ass http://www.haheiholidays.co.nz/hahei-holidays/accommodation-overview_idl=2_idt=3339_id=25202_.html got big rooms/small rooms/campsites and is 5 minutes walk from dairy/pub/food and short drive (like 5mins) to the start of the Cathedral Cove walk. Also hear the motel right beside the pub is pretty nice. -
Does anyone happen to have a spare Hotwire or 2? 13s and will pay for them ofcourse. Turns out mine were Ford ones after all the time spent working on them haha. they've been machined now but two are unusable

Successful long weekend!! Got taught the basics of cutting, stripping and rejoining wires in the wiring loom and wired up front and rear speakers, stereo, alarm amongst other bits and pieces. Also placed indicators and glove box so extremely pumped with progress! Pics are all from Sundays work. Gonna get wheels polished this week then hand paint them. Have five hotwires but one is really quite messy so looking into buying one or two others in better condition. Feels amazing to get back working on it again.

lathed hotwires would be sweet. did give it a go polishing them myself but damn takes a lot of time.

Cheers. The main details we know are minor bridgeport 12a but I've asked the chap who built it Passivating was $40 for a whole mixture of pieces and air filter stickers were made for us and brother stuck them on. Just found a place that'll polish my hotwires for $60 a wheel if anyone is keen on getting theirs done. Pretty cheap for the amount of time and patience it takes.

sorry about slow update, haven't really done much lately due to other cars gracing/taking over workshop. Added a badge to it, great success! however, we are going to get the hotwires done so I guess that's an improvement and the drawings of wiring loom are getting placed on walls around work. so I googled "how to get paint off hotwires" and it sent me to oldschool and acid dipping was suggested so gonna do that and polish em and hand paint em. and that's the update! don't have many more pics other than these

Well, 18 with an RX3 that I've spent three years working for for myself, but agreed it is a pretty sweet deal . Thanks for the birthday wishes guys and Chickity Arial looks sweet, I'll get bro to get it and pass it off as a birthday gift. Things are really shaping up for the three at the moment. Have decided that I actually kinda really want it now so we are focussing on just getting it to the point of getting a WOF and rego and then we'll sort fixing up the hotwires and fancy stuff later on.

Haha this sure is interesting. LingLing, you're dreaming. Probably didn't take much notice 'cause most people either assume I'm the gf or a dumb blonde. I ask bro if I can come to the meets, true story. -

Ling's Silver Grand Father ---- Plan B (NOT a SPAM THREAD)
rotorhoe replied to LingLing's topic in Project Discussion
Do the rust removal yourself, I did mine. Be a man! But remember what I said, when working with the chemicals use a fan to not get a headache. -
haha unsure whether thats good or bad but cheers

shot Kieran, no better first car. Hotwires are staying, that is the one thing I'm sure on! Chrome bits look good, maybe help if I post pics up with the guard holes?
-
You're right and they always look good on RX3s I think I'll leave those choices in the hands of the brother. Got some good options though thankfully Pics will be being updated very soon once I go see it again.

Pretty intense first car but I've worked toward it, literally. Cheers, will try get more pics tomorrow to add to the thread. thats actually quite an interesting way of looking at it. would definitely force you to be more aware of everything going on and would be especially useful for getting used to the roads. Cheers Chees- Karl said you and neo went to check it out. Will definitely let you both know when its complete.
