Hotwires are looking fairly badass on the car... Here goes the photo storm: Dad and I, who I owe greatly for being so supportive and helping me through this/doing most of it haha

I think it represented the whole event perfectly. Different to the usual Discovery shows

Rewarded myself from study and went and got this done: Brett at Firestone Browns Bay is such an awesome guy (highly recommended), he was asking whether I had centre caps and I explained I had been looking for them with no luck so far and he went away and came back with one and gave it to me for free. So happy about this!

Hotwires are all painted, took two half-days and came out better than expected but will see when they're all finally fully dry and on the car. Deciding now whether to paint behind the spokes, probably won't be seen but might make it look better and there are a few paint runs. Pics of wheelz (during and after)

Was lovely to see you dapper folk again

Painted 3 of them today over about 5 hours and they look sweeeet but they haven't dried so I guess tomorrow I'll find out. Was a shittonne quicker than expected but I am quite fussy about how they look, so probably was longer than others haha.

I don't particularly care what we have, we now have $70 worth of paint and brushes.

Yeah between the spokes hand painting I think it'll be fine I'm patient enough for it. I'm not gonna mask up the whole thing, chances are it'll overspray anyway.

I'm actually going to attempt to hand paint it, will see how this goes haha. Might try spray the centres though. Guy at paint shop thought I was nuts for hand painting but worth a shot.

Got wheels back from being polished and they did a sweet job (Metal Polishers, Sunnybrae Road, Glenfield) Also bought paint and other bits and pieces to start painting them up. And as well as that, ordered in more carburetor parts as the ones we got to replace weren't right. Hopefully get it top priority before Rhys' RX7 comes in haha.

In July BDA780 and I bought a Tandem Loline because we thought it would be hilariously awesome to try velo it. However, it is so cool that we are currently discussing just restoring it to ride round. It needs a fair bit of work to get it going (still a sweet deal for $100), has gears at the rear but they're ceased, everything is pretty rusted minus the frame, need new tyres and seats and need to fix the shocking welding job on the back handlebars.

Jeees those photos came out perfect- remind me of the old rallying photos. I really want a camera like that!

Yeah a lot cheaper, they're trying to expand on it, make it a bigger event. The dressing up aspect of it is always pretty awesome too.

Haha such an awesome idea, don't believe anyone is allowed to sleep on the grounds, but always worth a try
