  1. Took it for a small shake down yesterday Oatua Hill climb . Engine been back in for 4 days but I was pretty happy with the way it run . This was not my fastest run for the day but shows it at least going And it was quite wet . First run was 60.5 sec fastest was 52.6 sec but there was still a lot more in the driving I would say Still a few small issues going . Leaking tail shaft . And I'm not sure that its running at its best . Carbs are spitting a little when they didn't used to . Just need to check that the timing is right . And it needs a new Alternator to handle the engine.

  3. I don't know about the Burton power out put of hp guide . But from what I know its simple for a xflow head ported, headers and cam and a good jetted carb it will go pretty good for a fair price if you want to start spending $ bigger values 1300 pistons balanced lighted fly wheel and twin side's
  4. New cam just arrived right now its ready to go back together yeah yeah

  6. Got a new one in the shed I want to start on . Nats track day will be fun but a scary test at the same time. Seems every time I take it out lately something breaks . There isnt much left to replace now .
  7. Got the clutch back yesterday can't wait to get this going again gone from 1120 pound to 1870 pound have been told it will have a softer pedal and now have a carbon and kevlar clutch plate
  8. So want to do some track days before Summer's end . Just hoping to get it all ready for the Nats is the main goal now

So I got the call today to say that my Supratours Clutch was ready much excitement seen I was told that the clutch before had never engaged before due to the set up fly wheel skim is ready as well just waiting on the Cam to arrive now and the then the motor can go back together . This has arrived was told that cold air flow would help with easy HP

Again its been a while the great white Van has been working hard so a few prezzies for it are well deserved the short shifter on the big HP 1.3 is needed The great thing about having more than one escort spare parts . The work truck got a flat tyre at 2 am so the van was called to task and for 5 hours it run all over the city doing deliveries with ease and loving it the only problem was at the end of the day the muffler at the rear wasn't so happy about have gas though it for that long so while i was getting the muffler repaired I got these fitted( Many thanks Woolf Mufflers ) So now it has a lot more top end lol for a 1.3 with the sport so out of action right now its the Van for lead foot so a stereo has been fitted and I have been really enjoying so good old school Rock yeah yeah Spent tonight starting to put a little polish on the Van it should be looking great for Lead Foot
  11. Working very actively on it want to take the car to Nats and track day but also need a new clutch now as well . New cam being made and should be ready and in Auckland mid week all going to plan. What seem like nothing to much at the drags is turning out to be a big deal.Its getting time to sell this one and start the next project Super keen to see what this engine can do around Hampton it used to do 130:50 on the old set up but it hasn't managed to run long enough to get a new time on this set up
  12. Fast time are you bringing it to Nats track day ? Been given a lead on a guy that will build a clutch's as I need a much stronger one now I'm calling him tomorrow if you want his contact
  13. Thought this would make a good talking point And it still went like this And the clutch is worn out to the the point I need to replace it before putting it all back together so will be on the search of a more performance one

  16. Yeah was a bit of a dark day after finding that out. I have spent so much rebuilding the engine and looking at almost the same again just to get it running again depending on what we find

So the head was back on today and looking like it was going to be running tomorrow much excite Until we started to set the tappet clearance and the last two didn't even move another time round still no movement so out with the engine now looks like the cam might have broken last two lobes off I don't think this will make Lead Foot now going to start getting the Van ready to take now
  18. So Today I got the I got my head back many thanks to Mark @ Wade Automotive for his handy work, its all ready to go back on Had a measure up while the head is off of the valve inlet are 42mm and 34 exhaust
  19. The big job is trying to sort out cold air flow and blocking off the heat from the headers the dyno guy told me easy 5hp by cooling it down at the carbs easy yeah right
  20. I thought the same but the big crack has been there for ages its water jacket to water jacket not ideal but not the end of the world . The two smaller ones are new but there is so much work been done on this head with the large values and match porting inlet and out let its worth a go to fix it. Would cost loads to get a new head up to this spec and change to the spare head I have I would have to down size the carbs as it wouldn't flow enough The machine shop said leave it to the master He has never steered me wrong yet
  21. The head is off and its not good . It needs 4 new exhaust values two collars and a stitch to help with the two new cracks that you can see. This is going to slow down the getting it ready for Lead foot . Fingers crossed I can get the head back mid next week
  22. So finally started this back up been sitting under a cover since the drags need to get it fixed Lead foot in two weeks and Nats coming very soon. Tomorrow the head comes off for fixing
