Nabbed the compression tester and timing light from work for the weekend just to see how all 5 of my mitsubishis are haha, had a smidge of energy when i got home so timed up the old hag which made it run a fair chunk nicer, was far too advanced before so pinking like a mother fucker under heavy load. Did a compression test too dreading what the results would be, Buuuuuuuut had a healthy 160-170psi on all four!! i thought that was pretty damn good considering A. It's a mitsubishi B. It's a mitsubishi that's done 330000ks if not a bit more! Couple of pics too Oh, and this is the derby car, pretty sad really, the thing runs bloody mint, just can't justify spending the money on fixing the severe amount of rust :/

Yup I was there getting some breakfast haha! Cheers man its really grown on me this wee car, can't fault a cheap to run, reliable, 4wd, wagon for practical daily uses!

Exactly the 4g63 I was thinking of, what about 4g62t out of a cordia to keep it 80s SOHC goodness? Small update anyway, fixed a heap of vacuum leaks and replaced vacuum advance with a non leaky one, runs like a dream now and significantly better on fuel! Also worked out odometer is in miles, so its actually done about 340000ks, pretty stoked it still runs so mint! Repainted bumpers and gave it a cut and polish too so it doesn't look as much of a piece of shit now too!! Picked up another mirage too which I'm gonna enter in the end of season demo derby after I tax all the good bits off it, bonnet is mint which is the only rusty panel on the lancer so that's a score in itself! Also has mega lush digi dash! Any idea if I can swap them over so the wagon has sweet LCD goodness? Will post pics when phones not being a chump.

Glad I just found this, needing window from my derby car chucked on the missus' daily as her windscreen is delaminating like a biiiiatch, late 80s mirage, how much to swap em over?

Is the chariot in good nick? Wouldnt mind the 4g63 as well although carby would be easier

Got the 27s on today, really happy with how they sit, no scraping at full lock etc, lifted it more than i expected too which is a bonus! Pics don't really show how much higher it is cause of the angle which is a pain.

Got reasonably motivated with this in the weekend, receieved my ratmat, so ripped the interior out on sat and went to town with the sound deadening! Got 14 sheets of it which covered the boot, most of the floor, inner door skin on the rear doors and inner and outer skins on the front doors! Really happy with the result, would definitely recommend it if yo' ride is rattly and loud! While i had interior out i fitted my new sounds which is an Alpine IDA-x100 headunit, 4" Alpine type s speakers, Rockford fosgate prime series 6x9s, An older Alpine 4 channel amp, Orion XTR series monoblock amp running a little Digital Designs 8" LE-MO8 sub running at 1ohm, full 4 gauge wiring throughout, this lot with the quietness of the ratmat makes for a significantly more comfortable daily! Pics: And then when i was at one of the tyre shops on a parts run today i spotted a set of 27x8.5r14s! So had a yarn to the guy about them and bought them half a hour later woooo!

Yeah both my wagons are this shape mirage and I'm definitely considering a second set after seeing that, I reckon would look even sweeter in wag format too! -

That would be awesome if you could find those pics! yep have won the 14's so hopefully have them here in a couple months, which is good as it gives me time to save for tyres, fix issues etc etc, ideally wanna have it rolling and ready for OSnats 2016! -

Just made a deposit on a set of a3a's with MLracing, so yeah gonna roll the 14x6s! should really be spending money on getting it running properly but shiny bits entice me too much! -

Been looking at importing a set of 14x6 +6 offset which I think shouldn't be too over the top but still look sweet. -

After always wanting one of these after seeing Tais one on here and being a mitsi lover since way back this came up literally a few hours after selling off my Runx! Got in contact with the guy and arranged to pick it up this weekend, so, caught the bus up to hastings first thing yesterday morning and picked it up, was all going sweet until about Otaki then the bloody alternator carked it, Fuck, no dash lights and suuuuuper dim headlights, managed to make it to the Otaki petrol station and thankfully they sold car batteries! $150 bucks later at 8pm on a saturday night we had a new battery and managed to get home! Got to have a good look over it today and she's not the finest specimen sadly, but very very saveable. List of shit to do: * Fix lock on boot as the key does not open the boot, rendering it useless. * Fix alternator, hoping it's just brushes. * Get the couple of dents it has pulled out. * Get a signwriter to re-do all the sweeeeet factory turbo decals. * Runs well enough but has a real bad lurch/hiccup when you floor it at lower speeds, and at idle/when cruising. * Carpets are fucked. * Ideally get seats refurbed as they're a little worse for wear Other than that, it drives bloody well, handles surprisingly well, probably thanks to it having IRS which was a nice surprise! When it's not surging under acceleration it is actually pretty damn quick for what it is, happily thrashes along passing in the 100 zone! And not too bad on fuel considering it's an old 1.4 carby, $70 of 95 got just over 350km. There is virtually no rust at all, worst bit being a little spot on rear window about 10-15mm long, super stoked about the lack of rust! Other plans: * Low. * Really dead set on a set of Advan a3a's with the red centre, which i think will work pretty well with the red "turbo" decals! * Get it repainted in original colour down the track, Paintwork is faded and pretty thin. * Drive.
