So this died a few months back going to the shops, so suspected fuel pump. So it's been sitting round doing nothing, but bought some cheap coilovers for the rear which looked like they'd fit up going by measurements, so fitted them up, but the one crucial measurement I forgot to get was the length haha, so yeah it slammed it to the point of it being undriveable Then decided to throw the 4g63 from the galant in for shits and giggles, and put fuel pump from that in also, now its back up and running and running 2 litre POWAHHH. Very straightforward swap, looms are the same so only had to swap ECUs and a few linkages and mounts as I kept the galant gearbox on the '63 as well. Definitely goes a lot better now, though not as rev happy.

Yeah so the 155s on this have been getting a bit low on tread so figured a new set of tyres was on the cards. Was also kind of sick of the stretched look and the fact that they had fuck all grip around any corner. So shelled out for some 185/55r14s. Much happier with how it looks and drives now, wish I'd done it sooner!

Awww yeah, ahh minor progress. Threw the lush poo brown carpet in this yesterday, makes the interior a far nicer place to be, also ripped out the LSD from parts van ready to put in this but ran out of time. Maybe next weekend...

Bit more progress on this old chap today, Harry has finished doing the Rust on it so swapped the good doors off the red one onto it. And fitted a tailgate I bought aaaaaages ago to it as well. Also tried swapping instrument clusters over as only the speedo and handbrake light and fuel light work on mine haha, but different plugs so was a no go. Also swapped shifter and linkage assembly from red van as mine were sloppy as fuck, so now she’s noice and toight! So it’s mismatched and ugly now but much more rust free. Won’t be far off going down for a wof!

Also trying to think of snorkel options as obviously there’s nothing off the shelf for these, I’ll probably just end up being a rough cunt and run pvc piping haha.

In saying that, mine is the weaksauce 1.8 petrol so hopefully won’t have enough power to smash its box.

Yeah been talking to Sam about his one, I really like them eh, cool how they have a full chassis too unlike the later ones, I think lokka do a front auto locker for them too so may look into that in the future.

Ahhhh yeah minor update, the wonky bumpers on this have always fucked me off, and finding straight mirage bumpers are nigh on impossible to find. BUT There was one of these that came into pickapart so had to go check it out, front end was a bit rough but had a mint rear bumper so I had to nab it, along with instrument cluster surround as all the clips/mounts on mine were broken so it has basically been sitting there the whole time. Then a couple days later a chick was selling mirage parts on facecrack up in Blenheim, and had a front bumper which looked to be good (well better than mine at least) so got that off her and thankfully @Chris.QCR the GC brought it down for me after wagnats. The front bumper also had mounts for fog lights in it so was gonna look ugly if I took them out, so had a random pair of foggies hanging up in the garage. So repainted both bumpers and polished chrome on them, and fitted the foglights, not wired in or anything yet. But I actually really like how it looks with them so they’ll be staying. So yeah, cosmetic progress haha.

Was a really good meat actually, not big, but good grub and sharns, and $2.50 beer bin was a big hit haha.

Lol fuck been well over a year since I updated this, and in saying that nothing has been done up until recently, I’ve got @JustHarry on the case of removing all the rust on it. And then I went and picked up this parts van from gore last week, so yeah 1000km round trip to pick up another rusty piece of shit, but, it’s worth it, it has good doors, an LSD (mines open diff rear) good carpet and linkages as mine are flogged to fuckery, hard to tell if it’s actually in gear. Where mine was completely fucked near the tailgate area, this van is mint so it’s got the perfect rust cut. Also in the back of it, it had a spare driveshaft, what looks to be a sigma gearbox and a decent set of extractors! So yeah I’ll class that as a fucking win! Red van is also rego on hold, but she’s pretty far gone rust-wise. So yeah, will have that back soon and will swap all the good bits over and take for a wof! En route back from gore. Sweet extractors that came with the parts van. Van 1 meet Van 2. How it sits on the 31s that are on it now.
