  3. Hey all im considering buying this sweet as 76 datto 260c, but i have a question regarding wheel size and offset fitment. Does anyone know the widest wheel and lowest offset that will fit before guards needs to be fucked with? im thinking slammed 15x 8, 9 or 10 4wd spec steelies, but obviously cant try wheels before i buy the car oh car in question is this bad boy, AC electric windows & PS.
  4. have heard from multiple very experienced panel beaters that covers accelerate rust something wicked due to trapping moisture and once it drys up/ warms up containing said moisture thus providing prime rust groth environment gotta stop treating the car like an ornament, its a car. designed to go from A to B, bit of water wont hurt it
  5. idont think anything but a NZ 26 will do it. one of the factory na ones from malaysia or something. they had one at osaka auto imports in chch not too long ago for like 4 k.
  6. use nissan junk, easily found and have drum handbrake. FC3S RX7 or altezza could be front options too
  7. ^^ exactly whats wrong with how it is now, seeing as you have been harping on about how much you love it i hardly think you are going to race it at a track seeing as the risk of crashing at a track is approximately 39686738305876849X greater than it getting stolen. However BC>TRD all day. With TRD the height is fixed and you done get camber plates. BC are prob way cheaper and in the country + warranty etc..
  8. as said above cambelt is a piece of piss on a RWD 4age. Will need a crank pulley puller, getting the pulley off is the hardest part. May as well do water pump while all the covers are off, only thing to worry about doing them is the O ring that sits between the block and water pump backing plate housing bit, other than that easy as pie.
  9. must have changed then, iv emailed them and paid by credit card and paypal heaps. the adjustables i had in it back in the day were straight out of my ae85..... they were k sport insert type so went into the z10 strut. his email address is ggtyler@yahoo.com
  10. ^ craig, email them. 86 camber plates bolt into a z10
  11. the "community" for AEs is so small that even if stuff does get pinched it will usually turn up. just because its your dream car, doesnt mean its anyone elses... i would invest in a kill switch and one of those GPS trackers over an alarm
  12. why are you so paranoid about it getting stolen? are they extremely hot property in auckland? i have never had any issues with any of the 5 ae8#s iv owned prevoiusly, parking on the street all night etc
  13. be pushing shit uphill getting a flat on the "good" not quake fucked side of town that will let you have dogs wont ya? way way more ppl after flats than there is avaliable atm
  14. i did this the day, was told it had to be the drivers lock, was $17
  15. i havnt seen first hand but the manager at my work pit crews for a trans-am, they got the headers ceramic coated, aparantly the difference was night and day, dropped exhaust mani temp by like 500 degrees. it is very expensive tho. ill be doing my mani, exhaust housing and dump pipe once i upgrade.
  16. FT would work a treat or take the Z10 haha
  17. may have been said, but less weight = go faster. S30 win old cars all day
  18. seeing as im a grinch it must time for a update. A framed the car from surfab to the paint shop with my work van....dont tell gary lol dorpped off at KUSTOMS INC so cory can work his magic, will hopefully be done before i move to aus on the 12-13th
  19. more awesome work by the SURFAB boys, infact fab work is about done, will hopefully beat KUSTOMS INC tomorro for some new paint action Dash bar, cage to front struts & mount for wilwood pedal box sorted Firewall holes filled turret bars Boot panel I under-sealed the new boot floor & the front guards
  20. Simon and Dan at SURFAB have welded in dreams dash bar only tacked in as i needed to confirm wheel height, will be about 40mm higher front rear and side windows out for paint cheers to Bakey
  21. meh, its a 82 corolla, it had about 6 spot welds and urethane holding it together before hand so anything is begonna an improvement. The welder was set to like 11 million so its all got good penetration, and as dan said the cage will be tied into the front struts, shell be right......hopefully =)
  22. been playing at the SURFAB fantasy factory today after work. Did some seam welding, now about 90% of the front of the car is done, and about 50% of my arms are burnt to shit decided to weld the strut bar mount doofers to the car as the std holes had been slogged to buggery "Clearanced" the inner guard with a gas torch, big hammer and the power of Simon
  23. sicko will be round after taiffic dies tonight!!
