  1. Cheers for the suggestions.Have checked timing twice it seems to be fine.This current pump(assuming it is original) has done 300 thou kms if thats a start.

I have replaced the 1g-eu with the 1g-ge non tvis in my GX71 mark 2.Just wondering what could be causing it to be so sluggish up to about 5000rpm.It idles very high if I wind the idle down low manually it will cut out slightly before revving.Its running the old 1g-eu fuel pump and filter/vaccum setup. Maybe it's not getting enough gas? the old sohc internal fuelpump isnt up to the beat? any help appreciated. Cheers

  4. I was looking at this picture and i thought, Shit that looks familiar, but then all 1gges probably look like that with the front cover off. It wasnt till i read the paragraph underneath that i realised its my old one. This motor came out of a crashed cressida i believe. Simon (UTERUS) brought the car Removed motor for his RNsomething hilux project Never got that far Sold it to me to put in my van Got to expensive so i sold it to this guy down the line who said he had a worked one in an escort. Apparently brought motor to swap into esky to sell so he could keep worked motor. Pics from my van thread. I think i still have a couple bits that I couldnt find at the time of sale if you find youre missing anything. Far out,so it is!.Crazy stuff mate.So the OS cycle goes on,One day she might actually power something!haha. Its a very healthy looking motor for the age,I assume the Cres may have done quite low k's or was looked after.Cheers for that info mate!always wondered what the story was behind it.
  5. Sorry,boring pictureless update homies. Righto,well after nearly a year! of rust removal and panel from a panel beater mate while I lived in Wellingtron it looks like ill be getting her back within the week. Went around and had a look at the work and its good to see all of the rust below rear screen,on bonnet and boot edges has all been patched FINALLY and someones nasty bog ejaculation throughout the car has been removed.Now just waiting on the rear guards to be sorted.Cant wait to get back to work on this beasty.Oh if anyone has an mx or gx front lip laying around,I will buy ,have tried all the local wreckers and all of the lips are buggered argh.

Hi guys contemplating buying a w50 with 4age adapter/custom bellhousing to go behind 4age in my kp61.Can i squeeze one in?without chop chop?had a look on club k and here and found out tunnel needs adapting for the alloy boxes but isnt the w50 steel case box a bit smaller? I should also add i have a manual body. thanks.

  9. Will follow with interest!,yea you will need a k series xmember if wanting to run a 4k.If you ever want to go 4a-ge powerrr one will directly drop in using the stock AE70 mounts,cross member, even the gearbox but the box wont handle too much.

  13. Had this in my paddock rotting away has.A chev leaf set up and sweet original wheels and caps. Plan is to have a complete flat stained deck reset the leaves general tidy up lights,personalisation etc,enjoy

  16. Bought this bad boy last week for a spare,looks incredibly healthy .Owner Had a worked up 1GGE in an escort.One of the nicest NA 1g's i've seen. made a little photohack from when sambo had it.

Purchased this a while back from Sam on the shore.Since then I have proceeded to buying 2 1gge's and a near complete celica supra 1ggte engine bay minus long block.Plan is to build a "+T" while I save for some turbo or gze pistons and head etc.Progress has been very slow but i am getting my ass in to gear and car is currently getting panel beated.Was quite rusty around rear screen,petrol flap,guards boot and bonnet. Currently sporting a oil fountain 1geu W57 Box and open diff f series rear. So heres a quick plan for the meantime. 1ggte Altezza Torsen LSD Decent clutch of course and a few easy bolt ons. Decent exhaust system. Repaint factory colours again. at least get some 14x8's all up on that. discussion thread here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=29167 Cheers!
  19. nice mark II dude.I have a gx71 hardtop too, factory manual i'm putting a 1gge into to replace the 1geu.I should really do a project thread too by now.Following with interest mate.
  20. Hey mate awesome 61.Im looking at getting rid of the horrible 1geu in my gx71 mark ii and wanting to go with the 1gge.Would you reccomend the 1gge? dont suppose you could keep the 1geu loom in there for the conversion?
