its hard to say, the guy i brought the car off gave me some lowering springs that had already been cut. Its a sweet height but front sits on the bumpstops so its a little bouncy bouncy

plus probably sub 500 for the eurolines is pretty win

so i found these puppies..... need opinions, i was wanting dark coloured rims but these are here and look pretty pretty, and possibly quite reasonably priced. they are 19x9.5jj +38 they fit so flush on the front and only JUST rub on the inside but that's nothing a few washers can't fix.... there is also a set of 18x9jj +30 exactly the same there but i feel those wouldn't look as VIP. Just worried about the cost of tyres on 19s

So this popped up on a facebook buy sell shit page friday night.... Ive kinda wanted one for a few years and have been quietly pining over the couple on here recently (most recently SEEN88s one) also a few pretty sweet ones on the jzxnz site. So after a car boner inducing google image search i decided i needed it in my life. Especially so because my partner has somewhat taken over use of my courier after i sold her car. Saturday i went and got it and today subsequently cut the stupid high ass springs down a shit load. This proved a little tricky as i didn't have the splined nut socket thing required to remove the damn wheel nuts. so i did it with the wheels on! but i succeeded.. Also painted the grill black, think i might do the badges black too. Black on grey never hurt anyone. Pretty happy with it only a couple minor things to fix up and it will be sweet. The back window went down and wouldn't go back up at the start of my trip home, i then discovered the heater won't do warm air (air conditioning works mint though) so drive home was a little chilly. Just that and the mad clear coat peeling on the bonnet, roof and boot which i'm not too sure what i'm gonna do with yet. Now gonna hunt out some wider/nicer wheels and some adjusties and i'll be happy. Really digging the black wheels so that's what i'm leaning towards at present and some pics of the old mark II with big younger brother mark II just cos.

Deff sounds like alt to me. Will be the rectifier inside it that pooped itself. if a diode or two crap out on it then it wont charge under load (lights etc on) would most probably be cheaper to just replace with a second hand one. unless your belt is just loose of course

ok so it turns out i fucked up sealing up my rims and they both have slow leaks and go flat over a few days. Which is not what good tyres do so i've taken them off for a 2nd try at sealing them. And fitted these for now lol started changing shit over for the up coming manual conversion made a fucking mess of this haha i did tidy it up a little more... a little I some how lost or forgot to get the brake pedal out of the wrecked car. So now i have this... Which isn't ideal so if anyone has a manual brake pedal please let me purchase it from you! and just for fun

what do you have the stereo ground wire to? another wire or the body? if there has been smoke what wire has melted? or was it just the stereo smoking? make sure you have fuses where fuses should be and not tin foil or pieces of wire in place of them. a fuse should always blow before making anything smoke lol

Yes straight pipes! But 5 speed is next. And proper lowering up front. Might also cut the bump stops down in the back to drop it another 30-40mm Yeah fender mirrors are getting fixed up by a mate at the moment, one was fine but I fuckin broke it off when I was fixing the damn water leak.

I have no idea where they came from, I got them second hand from some chick on zebs facebox wheel classified page. Cost me $400 which was pretty decent I thought. Then I swapped my 6.5 wide longchamps to a guy for his 6inch wide ones that he'd already had split. Also from the Facebook page. And yeah I'm pretty sure they are steel

yeah i know, theres plenty more room for dish in the back there too. I'm going to end up running those ones on the front one day though. The other pair will be widened to 9 or 9.5 eventually

better pic of lows boner time..... heres a pic of the springs i put in the back compared to the stock ones how do people go about sealing rims up when bolting back together? just liberal use of silicone all up in there first or just bolt together then sealant?

Ok so I just wrote out a huge story detailing all the dramas I've had with this over the past few days and my gay ipad decided to refresh itself and cleared it all so here is a dramatically simplified version of events. Towed car to to mechanics. Got new cambelt, water pump, crank and cam seals. No oil leaks. Forgot I already had the seals I needed and got new ones. Forgot to say I had drained oil days earlier. Nearly cooked engine. Had it not been for a new, rather large, water leak the engine would have been run for longer than a minute or two. Lucky water leak. Hole in thermostat housing. (Bolt from water pump went through it, wasn't me..) Replaced thermostat housing using new gaskets etc leaking. Tried again + silicon Success... So far. Getting sick of crusty old 1g-geu. Got sick of getting wierd looks driving round all Mexican spec like this.. So today me and my work mate took some spare struts I have, cut springs and sneakily welded them in there to keep them "captive" Resulting in this. Sorry about shit pics but I forgot to take any at work before I left. Much better to drive now, not like driving a cloud anymore Wheels soon...
