Put these wheels off the corona on here today and i think they look pretty good, better than the steels anyway! although it looks like every black ex thats been on trademe recently and i now need to make it lower again haha it does handle a lot better now compared to those tiny bubble tyres, a little stiffer/bouncier feeling now if ya know what i mean thoughts?

warrent went better than expected. failed on the following; -guard indicators not going (replaced bulbs) -left rear tyre fucked (spare fitted-sweet!) -both front lower outer ball joints buggered -rust in left rear sill needs to repaired and thats all! pretty happy with that. this is the rust - there is no other rust worth mentioning according to the guy at that checked it over and thats fantastic news! it was mostly covered with bog, had i left it tho it may not have been failed on it. but at least now ill fix cos i have to instead of just leaving it to its own devices and forgetting about it

Well i brought myself yet another car, couldn't justify buying it at all except for the fact i just wanted it and i had money there to buy it haha. Its been off the road for the last 4 years or so parked up in a shed so has no wof and the regos on hold. not much rust in it to speak of thank god - the worst being a fairly average repair to the rear passenger lower door shut that will need cutting out. the rest is mainly superficial and that a good bit of rust kill will handle. Wasnt running so flash when i was bringing it home but sussed that out to be a fucked spark plug so threw one of them in and it runs mint, not bad for not being on the road since 2008. luckily the guys been running it regularly while its been off the road and everything still works pretty sweet. I'll be taking it in for a wof this week, dont think its gunna need much, well fingers crossed it doesn't! oh and it gets cheap rego so thats a massive bonus! it might end up being a quick tidy up and flick off job but ive gotta say its pretty sweet to drive and so comfortable and smooth its growing on me more and more so i may just end up keeping it. yeah i know what ya sayin ky, and that was my plan with the autometer gauges i already have, to put them in the old compass thing that was in the rvr i wrecked. ive been constipating over this all weekend and iv decided i just cant justify not selling them for mass profit, its not everyday you can more than quadruple your money. the other ones i have will do the job just fine for the ex. i probly will regret selling them one day but 700 bucks towards a rebuild will be a lot better imo not sure what the model was i robbed the seats from it was this model...

got the car back to low again! its a little higher than it was the first time. as in legal. just had to put a couple spacers in under the top hats and the front now sits at a healthy 110mm. the back was a bit different in that i had to take a pair of standard springs and cut one and a half coils off them and the back now sits about 115-120. will probly end up changing it all around again once i get some bigger wheels tho pretty happy with how its sitting now, still a comfy ride and the back isn't sitting on the bump-stops anymore bouncing all over the place was at the wreckers again the other day and picked up this seat out of a late model lancer, the back part fitted pretty good, had to drill new holes for the bottom mounts. the bottom piece wasn't that easy tho. had to bend the inner frame to fit it over the wheel arches. I managed to get it to fit ok but im still not very happy with it, its way better than the old grotty seat tho and comfy as hell. spotted these fancy looking gauges in a WRX while i was at the wreckers too so i grabbed them aswell they are pretty cool. they are defi brand and have a wee control box that actually records and plays back the data they receive and have peak recall and preset-able alarm that can come on if your over heating or boosting etc. pretty flash indeed! scored them for $150 which i thought was pretty reasonable. When i got home,just out of interest i looked on trademe and found an identical set for $800! and a couple of similar sets for $500-$600......so now they are tentatively for sale on tardme hahaha although they look pretty dam good, the money would mean a pretty good start for a rebuild on my turbo engine....hmmm what to do... $$$$ or "best gauges money can buy"?

yeah its pretty heavy duty stuff, i'v heard lots off good stuff about it so thought id give it a go. The gearbox was pretty whiney before but im pretty sure that was because it had almost no fluid in it at all OOPS! luckily i havent driven it or run it all that much since i got it! I was told when i got it that it had no fluid in but in all my excitement of getting a new car i forgot all about it! plus i figure the poor gearbox has probly had a hiding most of its life i'd better look after it haha

so its been a while since i had an update on this one. been focusing most my time on the mitsi any who, here's what almost $100 of gear oil looks like! got that in it now, spilled lots, its fuckin thick stuff! and heres a couple random pics for good measure still cant find the bonnet or boot latch bits i need for this either which is becoming a mad headache!

um i dont know if they have a proper name, i just call call them rubber spring bits haha oh good score! thats a cheap pair of seats for ya then man!

yeah i have a similar question, when i was getting my cert plate fitted to my lancer was having a yarn to the fella putting it on, when i mentioned id be putting different wheels on it eventually he said oh that will make this null and void you realize?. i was like nah.......? really? if true seems pretty dumb cos people change wheels on cars all the time without the need for a cert? or is this only true for widened rims...

cert plate arrived friday so got that fitted, got warrant and got rego! which is AWESOME went for a wee drive and the gearbox is leaking an alarming amount of oil which is NOT AWESOME

gutted my cert plate didn't arrive for the weekend. didn't show today either so fingers crossed it shows up tomorrow so i can take it out on anzac day for its first legal drive in almost 2 years! stupidly put a tint strip on it that im gunna probly have to take off before i get the warrent, but we'll see how that goes

certification was successful!! now i just need to wait 5 working day till the plate arrives, get that ticked off my WOF sheet, get rego and im done!! this is what a certed car looks like! so dam happy now

tidied up a lil bit of wiring in the engine bay tonight. fairly boring up date but it is true! Before After i could /should do better considering i'm an auto electrician but i really can't be fucked, i do plenty of this shit at work dam my small garage!!
