    i bought a cheep water trap/ regulator from supercheap (25 bucks worth) ibought it primaraly for the water trap as i already have a regulator, but as i have it set up it seems that buy regulating flow it just blows all the excess air out. is this how they are supposed to work it just means my poor little compressor is going fullchat trying to keep up, i would have thaught a regulator would only allow a certian ammount to flow to the hose and hold back eveything else.

  6. i dont know much about whats best but i have seen in a mag the kits in the uk are roughly 80bucks per side nt including springs which seems to me to be waaaaaay cheaper than trade me.
  7. so far i have a cortina front and my escort rear section bolted 2gether but its 30mm 2 long (front half) and that sillly rubber donut thing is to big for the trans tunnel. if you can do a front section without the donut bit id be stoked. il get it shotened to suit and be happy as pig in doody im in aux but would rather courier 1 up than pay what the driveshaft man quoted

  10. any ideas what shares the same input spline and dimentions as the ford sierra 5 speed box? do driveshaft shops carry the input ends in stock?
  11. hey. so got the motor and after a bit of cutting and smashing got my 5speed up it now my nxt issue is the drive shaft. so far ive got a cortina front and escort rear bolted together in order to get the right in put end and close to length. any 1 who has had a play with these dunger old driveshafts know about the rubber donut/spacer/vibration stop /weak point. i need to shorten the whole thing by an inch so if i get rid of the donut thing, trim it a bit and bolt it bk 2 gether minus the rubber will it handle the jandle?

  14. just bought a hilman avenger clutch plate fits perfect on the splines of sierra 5 speed if i could get motor of garage floor it id fit it ah well have to wait till weekend but any way if it is the clutchplate that is the drama this should work

  16. hey how did it work out im just ready to start this conversion myself im planning on using hilman clutch, did you have to get custom gearbox xmember? did you have to 'adjust' trans tunnel?
  17. i fixed this prob in my escort. took a samll amound of fiddling to get the booster bracket out, you dont have to take the actual booster out or disconect any brake lines. then stuck the firewall end of the bracket in the vice gave it a bend bolted it back to fire wall and re drilled 2 holes in inner guard for the bracket bolted that baby up and hey presto twin sideys fit a treat
  18. just a random thaught i had. i dont know sweet fa about these chargers but if you running it in a draw thru set up would you not be sucking petrol vapours thru the turbines and washing all the bearings of their lube?

  21. bloody choice that if all fails with my twin sideys in guna charge it did you do many internal mods? has it been reliable?
  22. next question is there any trans tunel mods needed to get the 5speed bellhousing up in there? or can i get away with droping my engine mounts as low as poss 2 gain sum clearance.
  23. legend. thats the exact info i needed chur. have an old drive shaft that came with motor that seems to fit the splines on the t9 box so i should beable to split and fit with my escort 1. must say the drive shaft does have a random ruber donut thing joining the output and drive shaft at the gearbox end looks to be a weakness. any way got to spannering this arvo guna pull it out motor and all and paint the engine bay while im savn/sourcing the rest of the bits. cheers for the help
  24. hey all im new here. anyway took my mk2 esky wagon out for a quick blat yesterday after v little persuasion from my good buddy i dumped the clutch and bang ouch no clutch no gears . shit fuck. now ive got a sierra 5speed with xflow belhousing on the shelf in the garage that i traded for a wb radiator at kumeu show. can any 1 help with whats required to mate it up ive heard rumour of a hilman hunter or avenger clutch? all info well apreciated ta
