  1. I like the way this thing is heading, keep up the good work.
  2. awesome work. must feel good to finally be driving it.
  3. this thing is so cool, some how this build has been hiding from me till now.
  4. yea the drive shaft has molded it nicely haha.
  5. Built up some new coilovers, pretty much the same as what i already had. t3 camber plates t3 sleeves 6kg/350lb springs tein keepers tokico HTS dampers OEM ae86 brakes The brakes are a bit average but ive got a rebuild kit that il use one day. (the drum brakes on the rear probably aren't helping). Didn't bother putting a photo of the coilovers up seeing as they don't look any different. Still need to mod the knuckles to fix the wack steering geometry. Bought a bride brix, mounted it up to the factory rails. Feels a whole lot more stable while drifting. The sump has been taking a bit of a hiding lately. Will need to make a bash plate before the next track day as its nearly worn right through. The motors already got enough oil leakage problems as it is. Decided to wind the coilovers down a bit more and trimmed the rear springs to suit. New and final height. don't think i could go any lower if i tried. 45mm has been cut off the bumpstops now leaving 15mm and still only has about 15-20mm travel Next job is to attack the drive shaft tunnel with an angle grinder, has been getting a bit friendly with the driveshaft/diff. 6. saw the notch yesterday, was looking real good and so clean.
  7. goes surprisingly well, only mods being a leaky exhaust and light weight flywheel. diff ratio and car weight also play a big part. ive got enough power to have a bit of fun anyway as long as you run skinny tyres you should be sweet.
  8. so dope. standard big port? cant wait to see this thing sliding around.
  9. Is he on here? He was the first person to put my blog in his bloglist way back when and I always keep up to day with his but never seen him round the net (that I know of). hes not really on forums, just s chassis i think. ive known him long before he got into cars.
  10. So it looks although this rust bucket is going to turn into a full time track car. In that case. Should do a bit of an update but nothing too exiting has happened so that is it for now. //oldschool.co.nz/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=32955 Callum

  12. So as you can see i attended a drift day at Ruapuna last weekend. Trying to drift such a small car was a bit challenging for me but was super fun. Until halfway through the day i went a bit wide and got all up on the ripple strip and snapped an Axel. I went home and got my spare axle and managed to get back out there for the last session of the day. Defiantly need to make a few changes before the next track day. need a better seat, modded knuckles and sort out the rear suspension. all in all it was an awesome day. A few more photos thanks to fliboi and awesomepowered.com. This photo was seconds before snapping my axle. Short clip from my gopro. UPU-6PLFqJ8 Will do another update some time soon about changes to the car. discuss: viewtopic.php?f=18&t=25224&start=60 Callum
  13. That rack conversion could be an option, also need more caster. Kp tandems would be ace.
  14. Will probably be selling them at some stage as ive got another setup lined up. will let you know. Just borrowed the power steering knuckles out of my ae85. The t3 knuckles don't fit very good and have binding issues on my car (sway bar gets in the way).
  15. Trying to drift it was super fun. Until halfway through the day i went a bit wide and got all up on the ripple strip and snapped an Axel. I went home and got my spare axle and managed to get back out there for the last session of the day. kpr i see what you mean how it wants to straighten out or spin. Im running ae86 struts with power steer knuckles so steering is even slower than normal and lock is reduced so this was a bit of an issue. Power wasn't to much of an issue as long as it was up in the power band/on the limiter. Defiantly need to make a few changes before the next track day. need a better seat, modded knuckles and sort out the rear suspension. all in all it was an awesome day. My tyres are still mint haha.
  16. Thanks for the photos fliboi, they came out real good. Will update build thread one day soon. Callum
  17. that video is amazing. how does the starlet compare to an ae86 for drifting? ive got a drift event in my starlet this weekend, ive only ever drifted an ae86 out at the track. ps nice driving.
  18. Fanks Was that the one from the c33? If so I was going to get that one at first. So comfy right? I straight up just dozed off sitting in it. yea off marcus from adailydream.
  19. just picked up the same seat for my ae85.
  20. im liking the way this builds heading. should look sweet with the starsharks. also props for not sticking to the generic "boso" (wanabe) build haha.
