need some help around the pakuranga area to bend 2 short bits of pipe on my extractors. I can provide photos. just need to be heated and pulled about 2 inches towards the block to clear my carbs. the pipe is already welded to the collector as they are a set of cobys im modifying. I could probably make an S shape pipe to connect it up but would rather try it this way first. Any idea where to start or anyone got gas and a means to bend this shit for a box of piss or some monies? also preferably done asap as the welder im using wont be at my house after this weekend. I am also keen to drive anywhere in Auckland to sort this out cheers

Tech Spam thread - because 1/4" BSP gets 5 hand spans to the jiggawatt

Thanks didn't think it was a big issue. Just wanted to make sure before the new bits are welded in. As long as it doesn't make it run like arse its ok. -

Will it make a big difference if a couple of header pipes are significantly longer than some of the others? Not a huuuuge difference but a decent bit longer -
Yea suppose to be a cruiser but I would like to be able to thrash the tits off it too and actually go places. Im fairly convinced buying it is a good idea, even just to hold onto it for a bit.
-
Would it perform alright though? I though the Vauxhall was a swap because the original engines were rather shit but I have never driven a G7.

So I have some good news, I have found all my missing chrome trim so I am excited to have her looking back in top shape. Plus theres heaps of other spares im probably going to purchase as he has a fair few wrecked B200s. I have also found an original engine so the issue is, do I keep trying to work the Vauxhall engine or buy this mighty 2L 6cylinder monster? Feel free to talk me into it or out of it. -
Looking good bro. Lucky there no where as much rust as the other car and your welds look heaps better too
-
Ill give part master a call.

I used some semi shit plastic verniers on the inside under the cap. body doesn't appear to get smaller at the bottom so should be accurate
-
Neck is 30mm
-
To suit a TOKICO (believe that's the spelling) cylinder off a B200. Ill measure the neck when im at the car next. Do you have a supplier or know where to get them?
-
where can I buy just a brake cylinder reservoir? this style

Cant we just play an old movie like American graffiti, not charge a fee (but all make a donation) and get around all this sort of stuff? -
You guys are amazing, mad respect for helping this old fella out. Will have him showing up to meets and shit in no time

Coby is sending me a slightly different version of the manifold used in the Vauxhall Victor so will see if that makes any difference. Apparently moves the collectors further away which should clear engine and the first and last pipe don't come out so parallel so should fit. Hoping it turns up over the next couple of days and It fits. Excellent service from Coby, ill have both to test and I just send the least fitting back.
-
Cheers mate. I have enquired about the diameter of these so hopefully they fit. You are right that a lot of Datsun stuff looks similar. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-Roadster-Brake-Master-Resevoir-Cap-Set-Tokico-/261290534356?fromMakeTrack=true

Is there an easy way to try match them up? Or do I have to go pick a part looking for old nissans? Good idea ill give them a shot too and hopefully they can match something up.
-
Alright guys I have Sterling Clutch and Brake repairing all my goods but even they said they don't have a cap to match which makes this all rather annoying as I cant put that rusty piece of shit back on it and just fuck all my shit up again. I don't even know where to start to find a cap? The reservoir is 30mm in diameter.

Cheers mate, Ill keep you posted to see what happens. Damn this car is starting to annoy me, Please just go together properly so I can drive around in the summer I got heaps of cash to throw at this car so ill reward you nicely if you do indeed come give me a hand. Getting sick of sitting it it pretending to drive.

These are Coby extractors purchased from Coby so hopefully they come to the party.
-
I have emailed Coby about this and will see what they say. These are the set to suit this motor, jig they used must be a bit off. I am also searching for a smaller starter to make things easier

Here's another picture, it's hitting on the underside of the last two pretty much directly above the collector.
