  1. Looking for a couple of metres of 3/16" stainless tube to finish off the brake and clutch lines, any leads on this much appreciated... Needs to be flare able so wall thickness, not too much .
  2. Cha Ching week, got the dry sump system plumbed up, pretty much every inlet/ outlet is on the wrong side, so it's done but may change stuff. Pedals, still to be plumbed. Plumbing water and fuel this weekend. Big thanks to The Hose shop in Manukau for wasting 5 hours with me making hoses.
  3. This was just down the road. I found it disturbingly appealing... 53 taps 7 bucks a pint...
  4. New Orleans, most excellent for general shenanigans every night of the week. Here's a photo from a recent trip, this was 2 in the afternoon. Vegas is also worth a look.
  5. Ready set.... ponder Should make it, ive got a pretty semi solid ish plan now !! Taking car to The Hose Shop in Manukau next Friday. Walked in there with a monster list and the guy behind the counter says, bring it in Ill give you a hand and you only pay for what you use !! Mint hook up !!
  6. Anyone on here got mad sheetmetal skills ? need to get seat made up in alloy, its really from the belt line down that needs to be reformed. I have an option down in Cambridge, but close to home would be mint.
  7. Progress - everything barring the radiator pretty much mounted, I chucked it all together today to see how it looked and to make a list of bits and pieces needed and make a list of hose fittings and hose required. Remote filter mount IC mount Water Tank and water/meth injection tank Plug for all ecu wiring Coils now mounted on intake post boxes And after that we were talking about the wheelie bars and the exhaust and the lack of ground clearance for all this. Suddenly came to me, engine mounts will have to be remade, needs to be lifted a least an inch to allow everything to work so back to the drawing board !
  8. The Plan is to be running in October/Nov, so will definitely be there assuming a) the plan comes together b ) I havent broken it.
  9. 12v semaphores, the 6 volters go off like an uppercut with 12v running through them.
  10. And its back together, heading back to the car ... I just cleaned up the head studs and got the length out of the case right (centre studs only had half the thread on the stud). The sealant is threebond 1211 - silicone based shit, nightmare to remove (about 3 hours for four cylinders), but apparently bullet proof (ish). Studs on the underside of head are a trick to torque, but got there through cunning. Used a 13/14mm ring spanner and an app - Norbar torque wrench extension - to get the torque right... Sneaky head stud nuts...
  11. Nah its not a lock in the heat deal, the stuff on the cylinders helps heat transfer. The reality is compared to stock there is bugger all fin area so it will run hotter regardless, especially at the head end. Water jackets at the head would be the answer. This is all assuming I can make the thing street legal and it actually gets hot enough to care !
  12. Coating done to cylinders and exhaust housing thanks to HPC in Auckland. HPC are doing all the coating, powder coating on the car. Shameless plug !!
  13. This has been really slow, car has been getting some stuff done, brackets and mounts and stuff, and basically like the rest of the build it has been painfully slow. But I have been assured Ill have the car back by the end of the month (that'll be 5 months). Frustrating as fuck, but anyway, since everything has been sitting forever rust is running rampant, so I stripped the engine down to the block to sort out head studs and cylinders and getting the turbo exhaust housing all coated by HPC this week. Since I bought the engine I hadn't really seen the pistons etc, so here's a couple of snaps. Pretty mega Conrod depth too compared to what I'm used to with these. Pistons are Venolia and the rods are Pauter. And a chamber shot, it is about 8:1 static based on what I measured.
  14. And progress is slooowwww... Although I did pick up a pre turbo water/meth injection set up from Green Brothers racing in Tauranga, I figure if they can make 800 + hp on 98 and a 13b turbo, they must be doing a lot right. Should be on loom making wiring in a couple of weeks after stripping down to short block to get bits coated etc... Running by August. I'd advise not holding breath on this though. Bits surplus to requirements, 20l fuel cell and turbosmart eboost2. Give us a yell if either tickles your fancy. The wheels above are Erco star cuts, super duper light.
  15. http://www.aquamist.co.uk/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=251 It reads like, if you get it right, it's very very good....
  16. Good point, flex fuel sensor is a good idea, I know the Green bros use it in their wagon running 98 they make over 700hp out of a mild port 13b. I'll give them a yell, it is a purely mechanical system, no pump in it to fail, from what I can see it uses the pressure side to force the liquid through the nozzle. More research required from me, just taking the lazy route
  17. Thinking about this, just wondering if anyone has any real world experience on here with it ? From what I have read, going down this path could mean running 98 rather than E85 which is pretty appealing.
  18. Playing with electrics, trying to get all this working together this weekend, fortunately i also have full growlers in a nearby fridge...
  19. Been getting stuff mounted and accumulating more bits. Work is still on the rear end at the moment, it will definitely be next season before it hits the track. Oil coolers and I/C are mounted, oil tank and water reservoir to go. Have the bulk of the electrical stuff in my possession, but it's a never ending money pit hence the overall slowness of the build... Here's the gearbox/sissy stick mount from the house of TBR The car will be on the Townsend Brotherz Racing (TBR) stand as a work in progress at the 4 and rotang show this Saturday, so have a gander if you are there !!
  20. Do an ebay search under deutsch, I think I got the 350 ish piece kit for about 400 bucks landed including the crimp tool.
  21. I just bought a pile of the deutsch connectors, maybe a couple of the 12 pin varieties would work ? I tried to find what you were looking for for not much money but couldn't come up with anything usefull. Not a firewall connector but would accomplish what you want to do. Once I've wired up what I have anything I have left is up for grabs, probably have a few spare connectors for cheap as.
  22. When you replace the studs, because they are a press fit it will likely make the big end oval, at least check them with a bore gauge.
  23. The stuff on the engine now is all turbosmart, might just grab some more of that to make it work. Anyone looking for any AN fittings ? A mate in Aus buys wholesale from XRP in the US. He has offered to give me his pricing, so Im making a long list now. Can price stuff if anyone wants any.
  24. Looking for a bit of advice on where to buy silicone hose for the inlet tract, and how much to use... From the turbo to the intercooler inlet will be less than 10", do I use two collars and a bit of alloy or one bit of silicone hose. The run out and back to the intercooler is a bit tricky so that will be alloy mostly. And where to get it from, looking for good quality chit in the ak.
  25. Shit photo but you get the idea Self explanatory one...
