  1. Can do. Live about 300 metres from a guy interested in Datsuns whose Dads name is Mr Wattie. If it Hobson St we're on to it. He' met my Skyline and also knows one Jake who collects Datsun 1600s and now lives at Repco Nelson. I got a place for an engine block, but for how long? I dont mean metres I mean time? Weeks would be OK but probably not months. I dont drink anymore...... I couldn't possibly drink ant more.....
  2. Levels Raceway 12 13 14 February I'll be one of the old buggers on the start/finish flags. Enjoy
  3. Its all a bit racist dont ur think! No jappers at this, no Aussies at that, V8s only, Hotrods vs original We just gotta have respect for what guys and gals do to their cars, whatever. There may be financial constraints, maybe preferences, but we all put in enthusiasm, skill, cash that we can ill afford, resources, piss off our spouses and families (they dont understand thats all) all for the thrill of the sound, the look, the time, or just some random saying "thats cool man" and hey..... when did you last do that! We hunt the elusive part, search for rarity, talk huge amounts of shit, burn rubber, break rules and laws. Hey I been doing it for 45years and cars only been around for a good 100 or so. You young cunts, who knows whats gonna pan out?? Just accept the different cultures, who knows, there may be something to learn. Fuck this is sounding bit patronising. Just go enjoy ur motors, they'll be taken off us one day, mark my words!!
  4. need to pre enter it seems so get to the website real quick. Need more entries for it to go ahead!
  5. Hi beam and low beam?? If both not working gonna be an earth problem. If Econovan (ie NZ Ford) at least the fuse box cover and relay board will be in English. High beam and low beam usually fused separately tho so I lean towards the bad earth theory. Something got disturbed when fitting the new diff?? Wrong end I know but electricity is weird eh.
  6. Also consider length of piping to get to the front coolers and back again. Long lengths will add to volume also. And then the piping often gets nicely warmed up again as it goes back thru the engine bay, nulling some effect from the intercooler. Sometimes the factory does know best eh!
  7. efi_lc has listed the club site link above or phone 036147514 weekdays Howard or Karen
  8. G'day. Bit of research and found Tomcats email, intro myself and he sent this website so I joined and here I am as "skyline1981". He/she is HGC211 turbo coupe and is the black one on wiki as photod before I bought it from thr panelbeater in Geraldine. I bought a KE20 at the same time but give that a quick sort out and sold on to a mate of my son who is really "Stee". It since sold on at a profit to chc. It is turquoise blue if anyone has it. Good car, very solid and was quite original. Stee is 23 and running an R32 with mines computer, bigger turbo, upgrade this and that and all the fines that go with that. I am probably too old to talk to most of you being late 50s but I grew up when most old schoolers were being made and used normally. I was very active with RATEC chc during 70's running Corollas in trials, my mates had Alfas, Fiats 850s and 124s, Avengers, Impala, Morris Minors, Prefects 100Es. Lately I have got involved with Sth Cant Car Club as a volunteer, started as flag marshall, now asst. starter. Free Entry to all events and you get up real close, V8s in January of course. Also restoring a 1961 MG Midget for my wife which we brought back from a long spell in UK. Never happier than when my hands dirty and skinned knuckles. So hi to you all and on lookout for skyline hgc211 coupe window glass and anything else. probably not going to use the original mags... too small 14s and ugly square centered things, and I have spare rhs front mudguard, and suspension bits (upgraded to r30/31 for discs all round) Bye for now. (Noticed a lot of mufti police cars just lately eh)
  9. Dec 5th is boy racer day at Levels Timaru. To pass scruitaneering need WOF, rego, cotton overalls, helmet and fire extinguisher. Usually 1/4 mile standing starts, something like a go to whoa, and a few flying laps. Sth Cant Car Club for enquiries, I'm just a volunteer there. Good fun tho and a legal chance to strut your stuff, if you dare in daylight and with people watching!
