  1. Impromptu roadtrips really are Yowzers style...| Anyone actually coming droming tomorrow pre-Yowzerparty???
  2. Small Update. I've just been slowly tidying things up on this car. Currently waiting on a few auctions to finish up on Yahoo to see if I will have some new flash bits for a bit my tidy. Found Ewan at Hayatonka just as easy as to deal with as everyone has said, so I highly recommend using them for hard to find bits and pieces. I had my KYB Shocks show up from the USA so I have fitted them and finally captivated the rear end properly, with the correct amount of compression, extension and droop. If anyone is looking for oddball sized shock absorbers for lowered vehicles etc, I recommend measuring it yourself and looking through the KYB catalogues found online, don't bother with the NZ Importers. I managed to track down a few badges unfortunately only one will do the trick. Currently sorting a conversion from Sealed to Semi Sealed Headlamps because they are fucking rubbish and it would be nice to see the road at night occasionally, Really should harden up and stop bitching about what makes old cars awesome. A set of springs showed up from Chamberlains last Friday so I now need to fit measure and then adjust to drop to the height I want it at as the retarded fuckers who shorted the factory springs cut the wrong end... Meat Heads need angle grinder licenses. Anyway pics cause words are gay. The factory length shocks compared to the Ford Econoline shocks I ended up with. Nice stiff shock in both directions, rides sooo much better now. As you can see I have upgraded from a 'Super Saloon' to a 'Royal Saloon'. If anyone has any spare crown badges or Royal Saloon badges that they are happy to part with please let me know. Especially an appropriate grill badge.
  3. Sounds like a good way to castrate yourself...
  4. Make sure they're clean and sealed otherwise they'll be walking home...
  5. I feel like I look like I'm going faster then I really am. Can't complain about that.
  6. Hamiltonians may make a disgraceful appearance as usual.
  7. Said Rover was exactly as you describe that KK, felt the turbo 'kick' as it punched the torque in during 1st and 2nd but 3rd through 5th were noticeably less exciting but still plenty of power behind them. Wow both Englishman and Frenchman would be turning in their graves to hear these two cars being compared.
  8. Replaced Rover 620TI Clutch about a week ago as Yowzer has mentioned, No slip period. Not even under full boost. I've seen Peugeot clutches slip slightly when new before. But only very lightly and only for the first few Km. And Yowzer the clutch took ages to bleed because both the Master Cylinder and slave were new and dry to begin with. Also very common for clutches too feel quite light new, especially in the European cars I've experienced...
  9. I plan on doing it multiple times but that's just because I'm forever changing things. I figured you knew the business, I just enjoy the sound of my own voice more than anything.
  10. I find hands on knees the best technique, especially if they're standing.
  11. Get it sorted Yowzer, we shall use our magical people skills at the Auckland meet to get more participants...
  12. I thought I had spied one there at some point or in your catalogue maybe.
  13. Well it's due to the relationship between those being the same regardless of tyre wear and profile changes etc etc. And a cert is a final ok that you car is deemed safe so going and again changing things again makes it null and void regardless. Flare and or roll your guards prior to cert and = not instant fail. In the eyes of NZTA your car is finished when you decide to certify it, hence why the entire car is checked and recorded during the process, regardless of whether those are the mods you are wanting to get certed.
  14. i'm sure jesse has those at work. or am I just making things up?
  15. Please reconsider posting a topic such as this under the events section.
  16. So basically your saying if it slips, tighten the belt and if it snaps it was too much. Pssshh Coefficient of Friction Pssshh
  17. My 180HP figure was more in reference to cambelts in general on a modern twin cam fuel injected engine, a standard Fiat Twincam was in no way anywhere near 180HP but in saying that the Lancia Intergrale 16V Turbo is the same engine and exactly the same cambelt arrangement and I would say 180 is a realistic figure for that engine. Just cause I felt like a rant.
  18. Fucking roughtastic to ride. Wish I was riding it right now actually. Damn you sun and neighbors.
  19. I'm sorry but I actually had an out loud chuckle at this.
  20. Yeah so Ten Fizz must've had a long day at work and I'm pretty sure my brain is just underdeveloped. The engine is very clearly just mounted backwards... Pretty sure he's planning on flipping the engine and rear wheel and still running a jack shaft regardless..
