  1. So 3.9 is a pretty good ratio? Not too short, or long? How is the EX going Ke36?
  2. FUEL = THE MAN KEVINATOR = RETARD! Sorry for the incorrect information. The sigma 10 bolt diff is INDEED 3.909 (Your the shit Fuel!) It was the 8 bolt lancer diff that i got mixed up, which is actually 4.2. Are the 3.545 rare as hens teeth?
  3. Does anyone know what the diff ratio is on a GSR EX Lancer? Its a non LSD guy. Ive got a Sigma 10 bolt diff head, and thats 4.1. Are there many other diff ratios to pick from for these diff housings? Is 4.1 good, or will i be running out of legs quick?
  4. Update Time 30/11/08 Awesome weather + No cash = Stay at home and work around the house Got bored with the house work and pulled the beast out of the dungeon. Still waiting for the right welder to pop up, so theres not much i can do. Decided to swap the drum diff, for the disc diff. Been holding off doing this. Dont know why tho Ive bolted up one of my Recaro Fishnet buckets just for laughs, but I wont be using them. I like the factory seats too much. BEFORE Put diffs near each other to have a look at the difference. Cant tell by the pic, but the 10 bolt diff is HUGE compared to the lil 8 bolt AFTER So, still needing my welding done to progress. Cant wait to buy a welder. Purchased a little 40lt air compressor to do little tasks aswell. Hopefully, my next post will be the money maker post!!!! Watch this space! NOTE - I still have the crashed EX Lancer if anyone needs any parts
  5. Thanks for the input guys. I think i will go for it. Just hope i dont get slayed for it by others. At the moment, the tyre size is just for show. Im not really a speed demon on the streets anyhow, and track days, id use a more suited rim i think. Less traction = More fun!

    Copycat?

    Im a bit reluctant on buying a set of mags for my car, because it may be portrayed as being a "Copycat" or "Biter" Ive been looking for a new-ish mag in 15x7, 0p offset. Fell in love with the Konig Rewind rims and decided to go with the 165/50/15 combo. THEN i forgot that these rims have already been successful on a previous EX Lancer (WSking(Awesome looking EX Lancer)) My question is, is it considered being a copycat or is it "OK"?   10. Good shit man! Would love to see a video of it in action. Same as Macabre, id love to see your car in action (Other then the taupo runs. Some skids maybe) The tank i have was out of a EFI Lancer, which originally used an external fuel pump to pull fuel. Im using a Bosch 910. You dont think thats a safe way?
  11. Yeah, with little travel, you mite bounce out of a corner the wrong way, and come out worse off. Ive looked hard and long at your fuel setup, and i cant make up my mind. I dont think ill be racing mine, so maybe a surge tank is not for me.

  15. absolutely NOTHING! It was the shell that i had. Sold it to a guy who is doing the same build. He has an original A175 EX GSR. The shell is sitting in his paddock, looking pretty sad. What were you after?

  20. The easiest way? Find a EX1800 GSR and steal the clutch setup!!! Easier said then done! The EX GSR's came out hydraulic clutch, but to find one these days is like finding cash in the couch. If you do find a A175, you will have to unstich a section off the firewall for the master cylinder and weld that into yours. I know where a GSR is sitting in a paddock and i have the pedalbox from a EX GSR if you are interested. Let me know, and ill ask if i can steal the piece you need

  22. OK! I GIVE UP! Chassis damage is alot worse then i thought. So, im parts'n it out. The things that mite be of interest for sale are: - Suspension (Lowered front and rear springs with new inserts up front and shocks for rear) - 15" Advanti Stalkers (Tyres are shit) - Plates and tags - Big Block 1200 motor - 4spd gearbox (I also have a 5spd) - Diff (8 bolt) and other bits and bobs. If anyones interested, PM me. GUTTED!
  23. Well, i couldnt help myself I saw this car on trade me last week, and thought ill have a look at it. The thing is, it had an accident in the front, but that was ok because i have they panels to replace the damaged ones. Had a look, didnt look too bad, so i brought it. My gut was telling me not to, but i did anyway. My gut was right. It is worst then i thought. This is what it looked like when i had a look at it I got it home, and started pulling things apart. Thats when the real damage appeared Just infront of the strut tower, you can see that its all creased up. Thats gonna be hard to fix! All in all, its quite shitty. Not too sure if I carry on, or parts it and count my losses. Its a shame, because the rest of the car is quite straight, oh well. The only good thing is I replaced the boot chrome.
  24. Everyone has really pinned what you need to do. But there are a couple more options Just with the gearbox issue, you can use a sigma gearbox without cutting a hole in the floor. The 5spd out of the 1600 lancers have an unbolt-able selector that fits on the sigma box, which relocates the shifter in the correct place. Thats what ive done. Rumour has it that some l200,s were narrowblock aswell As for Hydro set up, If you can source a fucked A175 (EX GSR) that will have your hydraulic setup. You'll need to cut the firewall out because the master cylinder is recesed into the firewall. Ive got a hydraulic pedalbox if you want Use Sigma engine mounts. Hope this helps
