More progress engine bay has been painted now. Stuck with green as the places to mask it off were going to look average another colour. We could quite get the exact colour so its darker but with heaps of pearls and flakeso it looks sweet. Looks shit in the photos much better in person. I paid the painter 3 sausages and a box off woodstockfor the paint and spraying so im stoked with how its turned out. Picked up my engine and drove on the rear bumpstops to the flat. Spent today putting the engine and box in everythings going to plan so far. Cam covers are off to get stripped for paint, the red was flaking off all over the show.

Fillled my from and paid just then. will be coming with Bart unless this super sweet deal pans out and Its not too expensive to bring my own car.

Il just be boring and go green the masking line, so you couldnt see another colour when the bonnet was closed was going to look rude. I used to go to scouts when i was young, good times haha. I dont know about the colour cream? Reminds me of Joes idea which was white with orange racing stripes for the engine bay

After moving out of RIVERSIDE because of the last quake, moving in with my parents temporarily with my cars squashed in the garage, then moving into a new flat, building rooms in that. Then having another big quake I have finally started working on my datsun again. Made some patches for 2 rust holes, and have sanded down the engine bay and masked it up to paint. This gay from the UK painted some primer and highlights. Have masked it all up and am still deciding what colour to paint it, Green would obviously look good but im almost keen for a bandit wild colour. Maybe metallic bright red or something? Suggestions?

Thats sweet man cool idea for the trailer. You should lathe up some polythene pipe to slip over the back wheels for pining drifts.

Id say that would have a nice big wake.

There are some good ones around like the one that pulled me over tonight he was a GC.

The angle grinder will give it a little more clearance. He didnt know what he was on about, 1st asked if it had adjustables, then told me when I put 300kgs of building material on the back the ubolts will go below 100mm. He was from auckland and obviously thought that playing his part in helping with the quake was try and order a builders ute off the road, when I was driving home from a 13 hour day fixing peoples homes with tools on the back. Dickhead.

Got pulled over for the second time this week. The 1st time I was a suspected looter, the second they checked my ute out. The u bolt ends were exactly 100mm fom the road. 1 mm lower and I would have been stickered. The cop didnt know what he was on about, said as soon as i get a load on the bolts will be below 100mm.

Get some mint chrome wheels but leave the rest as is.

Dont be a pussy Bart, even in the unlikely event that you get green stickered the police still let you drive to your destination and home again without getting in further trouble. It happened to my friend who was driving from Chch to Invercargill and got stickered on the way down. He was not allowed to drive around Invercargill but that didnt really hamper the weekend.

Chroming will be way to expensive id say. Going black as iv never seen chrome paint that looks any good.

Probably will paint the mirrors not really going for rat. Wonder if i could do a twin head light conversion from an older b2000?

Hey sparkle, truck mirrors and want to get an old style mazda window banner. Need to paint them up and get some other bolts for the other side.

Iv got mirrors like that! It came with them looked pretty gay with them on standard but now its looking a bit better il try them again. Got fender mirrors for it but still not sure weather to rock them with the wooden deck.

Made a new deck this week. Used Miranti ply and satined the original sides to match. Also put a rowdy exhaust in with a side pipe but its a bit too rowdy 118db on the limiter. 107db with the wof style test so going back to standard muffler so im not a bender.

I did get different tyres in the end. 185 60s thats what are on it. Look a bit more proportionate. I must find a wood carver.
