    3sge no go

Turns out theres no injector pulse coming from the ECU and its only firing because its getting fuel from the cold start injector, also theres a nice melted blob of solder on one of the curcuit boards bridging a couple of diodes, im guessing its time for a new ECU?
  2. Yea should be fine, all RB manual boxes share the same yolk except rb25det gearboxes

    3sge no go

Has all three of those, is @ the auto sparkys now getting looked at, theres no power going to the ignition feed for some reason and it still wont start when manually bridged to power it, does the ignition feed run to anywhere on the motor aswell as the ECU that would cause it not to run?

    3sge no go

how common is it for 3sge igniters to die? could this be causing the problem? cheers

    3sge no go

Was running fine till halfway to work this morning it just died, will fire once when trying to start then cough and die, wont fire again unless the ignition is turned off then on again. Can hear the fuel pump still buzzing away and fuel filter is new. Guessing its an electrical problem but dont know where to start looking for problems cheers
  6. Yep had been doing fairly spirited driving all weekend
  7. Yea ohwell things happen. Yep will get them beefed up when I get it fixed
  8. Was driving home from tairua in the weekend and heard a pop, pulled over expecting to find a flat tyre but found this Bottom shock mount has cracked and broken off which sent the tein into the road bending it slightly(should straighten out) then into the rim taking out a nice chunk of it. So out came the rangimods to get home Still bowling round with it like this till I get the mount re welded tomorow
  9. Is there a possibility that an oil cooler for a beams 3sge fit a gen2 3sge? Cheap Trust one on trademe for an altezza with built in thermostat that im looking at
  10. nah haven't brought one yet was just wanting to get some opinions on them first, dont want to buy something then have it leak oil and cook my engine
  11. do 33s have the bleed bolt on the plenum that you take out while filling the radiator? RB engines can be cunts to get all the air out of the coolant system so you may have an air lock
  12. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Car-parts-accessories/Performance/Radiators-cooling-systems/auction-252067719.htm Something like this then add an oil cooler to it, and as 3sge engines have a problem with low oil pressure on startup due to the angle the filter sits on im hopping it will help fix this problem
  13. Was looking at getting one of these kits off trademe, anybody using one? are they crap or not to bad quality? Want to put one on the 3sge in the townace since the oil filter is in a cunt of a place to get at. Would a kit with a built in thermostat be recommended?
  14. iv fit a steering wheel from a townace to a hilux with no problems so could be possible that itl swap straight over
  15. nah only for a dirty old hilux so will be sweet
  16. Cheers can get ATF free too so will use that cheers hard work being cheap haha
  17. Just wondering if hydraulic oil is fine to use as powersteering fluid? Powersteering is essentially a hydraulic system right? so just wondering if it would work, reason I ask is powersteering fluid costs money but hydraulic oil is free from work
  18. Sorry blank moment while posting that, yes talking about toyota diffs. Both diffs are from a townace so axle length is the same but is there a possibility the axles/wheel bearings/axle splines the same size?? Would save having to get the stud pattern redrilled when I get the diffs swaped
  19. Any chance that e series axles fit a f series diff?
  20. hey rob could you measure the diff you have and confirm its width from hubface to hubface? Im looking for a 4x114.3 disk braked solid axle f series and the width of your diff is roughly the same as my current e series thats 1460mm.
  21. Whipped out the old swaybar this arvo and swapped it for the masterace item. Bolted straight in but had to change the links as the 4wd ones were longer. Driveshaft still hits the new swaybar but not as much as the old one, bushes are shagged so will replace them soon and hopefully that will fix it. 4WD swaybar vs 2WD swaybar(4wd is the top 1) Also scored a momo steering wheel and bosskit for $10, got the gearshifter boot redone and scored a fire extinguisher for free
  22. old mans got one in a mazda marvie, its a slow thirsty torquless wonder
  23. The van developed a strong gas smell over the weekend so havnt been driving it, pulled the engine covers off tonight to check for fuel leaks and found that the fuel line was worn from rubbing on the cover so fixed that, should be better on gas now Nice long runners on the intake plenum, looks like a good piece of workmanship nice welds In other news, picked up f series diff from a masterace surf 4wd, should bolt straight in me hopes once I get a LSD is sorted for it, grabbed the swaybar aswell because it has a notch for the driveshaft so will slap that in and will fix the issue of the driveshaft hitting the sway bar
  24. gota f series out of a masterace surf 4wd thanks to NZDMAE86, chur. Looks like it'l bolt in to the townace no prob and it looked to be 5x114.3 when I put a tape measure on it
  25. sweet cheers, was under the impression they weren't 5x114.3
