  2. Cheers can get ATF free too so will use that cheers hard work being cheap haha
  3. Just wondering if hydraulic oil is fine to use as powersteering fluid? Powersteering is essentially a hydraulic system right? so just wondering if it would work, reason I ask is powersteering fluid costs money but hydraulic oil is free from work
  4. Sorry blank moment while posting that, yes talking about toyota diffs. Both diffs are from a townace so axle length is the same but is there a possibility the axles/wheel bearings/axle splines the same size?? Would save having to get the stud pattern redrilled when I get the diffs swaped
  5. Any chance that e series axles fit a f series diff?
  6. hey rob could you measure the diff you have and confirm its width from hubface to hubface? Im looking for a 4x114.3 disk braked solid axle f series and the width of your diff is roughly the same as my current e series thats 1460mm.
  7. Whipped out the old swaybar this arvo and swapped it for the masterace item. Bolted straight in but had to change the links as the 4wd ones were longer. Driveshaft still hits the new swaybar but not as much as the old one, bushes are shagged so will replace them soon and hopefully that will fix it. 4WD swaybar vs 2WD swaybar(4wd is the top 1) Also scored a momo steering wheel and bosskit for $10, got the gearshifter boot redone and scored a fire extinguisher for free
  8. old mans got one in a mazda marvie, its a slow thirsty torquless wonder
  9. The van developed a strong gas smell over the weekend so havnt been driving it, pulled the engine covers off tonight to check for fuel leaks and found that the fuel line was worn from rubbing on the cover so fixed that, should be better on gas now Nice long runners on the intake plenum, looks like a good piece of workmanship nice welds In other news, picked up f series diff from a masterace surf 4wd, should bolt straight in me hopes once I get a LSD is sorted for it, grabbed the swaybar aswell because it has a notch for the driveshaft so will slap that in and will fix the issue of the driveshaft hitting the sway bar
  10. gota f series out of a masterace surf 4wd thanks to NZDMAE86, chur. Looks like it'l bolt in to the townace no prob and it looked to be 5x114.3 when I put a tape measure on it
  11. sweet cheers, was under the impression they weren't 5x114.3
  12. looking at getting a f series diff from a masterace 4wd there 5 stud and some weird stud pattern right?? so is there any way to get the stud pattern 4x114.3 or 5x114.3?? will axles from another solid rear f series fit sweet?
  13. no pics yet as the weather has been shite, will try get some in the weekend is a great daily lush as to drive goes great loves to rev but really needs lsd asap, are 4x4 townace diffs leafsprung or trailing arm? and does anyone know where one could be?? the rear swaybar hits the driveshaft under hard acceleration and makes an loud bang so need to fix that, any ideas? any toyota knowledgeable people have any ideas on a brake upgrade for the front end to get it pulling up a bit quicker?
  14. going to check out a f series lsd swap from 4x4 townace and some better brakes possibly as old owner rekens it could pull up better but will see once I get a good drive in it
  15. Yea been eyeing it up for a while still got coil overs with plenty of adjustment left would be a choice trackday wagon, has a lush interior il be keen to bring it for a blast needs lsd, has plenty of 1 wheel delight atm when you give it some stick not to keen on the paintjob but itl do for now want it to be a sleeper so looking for O.G colour to paint it and some steelies with toyota hubcabs
  16. would a f series 4wd diff have the same mounts as a e series diff?
  17. Will check build plate when I go for a look @ it cheers
  18. are there any lsd diffheads that will fit a 91 townace?
  19. would fill a catch can fairly quick so would have to empty it all the time
  20. Will try the chassis rail trick I think, the hose was plumbed to the intake but was spewing a bit out and filling up the intake hoses
  21. Gotta surf with a 2L-T thats getting tired and has lots of blowby so was wondering if I could reroute a hose from the tappet cover breather to feed into the turbo oil return pipe? Any problem with doing this? Would I need a breather teed into the hose aswel?
  22. same thing happened to me when my laurel got stolen and crashed, got paid out and the only way to get the car back was to buy it from turners where it went to auction, got it back for 380 and took out alarm, sounds etc then stripped it and sold most and made bout 12hundy buy a hilux with bullbars if you wana be bulletproof, guy backed out in front of me in the supermaket carpark, hit him pretty hard and all it did was break my corner light but made a mess of his car. Have also hit a chained gate with it and it just broke the hinges off the gate Hilux+bullbars=good
  23. my 2l-t surf was doing a similar thing at random times, i just reset the ecu and it was fine. I just disconnected the battery then held my foot on the brake to drain the leftover power from the ecu, unpluged it, pluged it back in and it woked fine.
  24. Im looking at getting a r30 skyline thats got shagged shocks and cutties, are there any other options with suspension that would fit from other nissans? R31 cefiro etc??
