  1. So im messing around with the crown gearbox wiring and i have a solenoid i can control to lockup the torque convertor. What is lockup good for? I imagine its direct engagement between the engine and the gbox like a manual flywheel with no slip. I was considering setting up a PWM reading circuit to engage the lockup after a certain rev, and momentarily disengage between gear changes. Or i could use a voltage detecting circuit and connect this to my TPS and show when i hoof it it locks it up for instant v8 action. I was also thinking of waterfalling them both, so the lockup would happen only after a certain rev and above a certain TPS threshold, meaning when i change gear i can get it to engage smoother between shifts. Whats going to work for me? and does the torque convertor lock up mechanically after a certain range anyways? (hence why people change for higher stall torque convertors) And what does the stall rating on a torque convertor actually mean? Chur, Nic
  2. Oh yea bought these too for it. Cha ching ching
  3. Boya drove the crown today, only up and down the road but super stoked. No exhaust, rowdy as. Need to finish exhaust, get a radiator fan and then it will be the crown life for me 1uz styles. My current garage, the middle of my folks driveway. Also converted the stagea to wasted spark after having a small smokey fire from a coil breaking down yesterday. Took a while to do, had to use a series 1 ignitor, and 3 mitis coils but works primo id even say the car comes on boost stronger.
  4. After some suspension and junk for my crown. However lots of places like BNT, autolign etc stock parts listed for S120 Crowns but nothing in there system for S130's. I checked ToyoDIY and it stops at S130 series crowns. What suspension parts are similar between the 2 series? Struts, springs, swaybars? Churs
  5. Sorry dude, not a memember of toymods so cant see that link.
  6. Yea i thought that was pretty fucked too, but apparently the G mounts on the chassi are welded in a different place to the U mounts. Got driveshaft made, need to extend shifter linkage. Sold my Cefiro so now i have a couple of G kicking it in my account, but unfortunately i need to see a dentist.... Thinking custom snells springs, new shocks, exhaust and some wheels. When the weather clears up i will slap the driveshaft in and see if i can get the beast to move.
  7. That statements so wrong it make me what to stab you, with love "Generally the Crown Auto will be the best one for conversions as it caters for a live rear end," (quote lextreme) Thats all im going off, and my understandin was the dshaft can move over the output shaft back and forward as the live rear end moves up and down. I should have reved it harder in the video but i had just gotten told off by the neighbours as it has no exhaust.
  8. What car is the conversion going in? I know the crown boxes are the only ones with a splined output shaft which gives them the ability to be mated to a solid rear end. Might just put a flick switch in for Auto lockup. Honestly i imagine driving it semi auto maybe an experiance to drive so will see how it goes as its pretty easy to wire up. If its a prick to drive ill spend the weekend or 2 it will take me to wire up the auto to the ecu.
  9. I have access to have torque convertor lockup via solenoid control if i wish. But I dont understand what the advantage of this would be? I think this will be more of a beat down crown then a boat around crown. S131's are common as and so cheap, i think one needs to be a beater. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YV_hBMj7ID0 Ignore music and enjoy awe. Haha Be careful with the airflow meters as the different models have different resistances. So if you get an ecu, get and AFM to match that setup. Ignitors are pretty straight forward. Im pretty sure that most toyota ignitors are the same but someone may correct me on this. I found wiring up the Ecu not as bad as i expected. I was pretty skeptical that i got all the pins in the right holes when i first did it. But when it ran after sorting the power feeds i was stoked as. Even idle control works primo.
  10. Why not? They arnt to bad. With this setup i had to cut the ecu plugs off the loom, and rewire the whole loom into the UCF10 ECU i got. This involved relocating all the wires from the engine. Im still on the fence if i can be bothered doing it with the gearbox, or to just manualise it. Do you have a lexus for your car?
  11. This thing now runs, will get a video up later on. Super stoked. Crowns also mine now haha
  12. Done a shitload more work on this, but no pictures cause i suck. 80% rewiring the Crown loom into a Celsior ECU. Epic job, wouldnt recomend it unless your a tin ass lilke me. Been working on this a heap. I know its a Cef, but i love it.
  13. I designed an oil relocator/fitting to replace the factory 1uz one yonks ago for my MZ10 soarer. I have no problems giving you the design to get it CNC machined somewhere. Or there is a small glimor of hope that i maybe able to CNC it for you. The option you have gone for is the most logical tho haha. PM for more info.
  14. This is vincents old car isnt it?
  15. Oi spannerz on Garagedori is selling a Vertex front bumper look into that.
  16. I wouldnt expect to much. Maybe $45 each max? All of them are going to take the same amount of time to setup, unfortunately the hubs will need to be reemed as you will need to press studs into them. So that will take a little bit extra over the discs.
  17. I can machine them at work for you mike. Drill out PCD etc. If anyone ever wants Cast iron welded/x-rayed and certed Machine Part Welding on great south road will do it and they are amazing. They regularly weld Injection moulding dies and cutting dies and punches for our press tools that missfed/eat spanners/failure. They also do mag repair. TRUE Cast iron is best to be filled with stainless filler preheated and post heated etc. But ive noticed a lot of Cast iron used in car parts has alloying agents in them which makes them a lot easier to weld and less likely to crack.
  18. No clue dude as i dont have the crown ecu. I have the wiring diagram for the UCF10 which is 26/22/16/26, I think the crown ecu is the one where the ecu and auto trans are seperate computers.
  19. Does anyone have any? Im having a hard time wiring up the Crown and its the last thing i need to do. I need pinouts cause im using the crown loom with UCF10 ECU so im going to have to splice a heap of stuff. Thanks
  20. metal surgeons that shit, he will cut chop chop that shit and make it work man.
  21. Flatmate got quoted $75 per wheel + GST. Im down to go get some ASAP for the siftymyster, if it doesnt sell on trademe this week.
  22. My flat mate went to him and he quoted Cheap as helll to get them in any diameter, any offset in any size. Im keen as beans to get a set made for the sifty skyline. He makes custom centres but they are welded in. Anyone used him before??
  23. hey dude, i have a spare set of those mounts, left and right side, with shock absorber. Came off the motor i put into my GS131, unfortunately the chassis are different so i had to custom make some. give me a text/email/pm if your keen, they are sitting in my scrap metal pile i was planning to take to metal man.
