  5. do you come to Ak a bit? can you fit it all in? Damien is heading down tomorrow... I will pay the guys ASAP, hopefully he doesn't mind if the money doesnt clear... have 100% positive TM Feedback going back several years. Anyhow easiest I thought was the said items somehow making way into Damiens possession... if you are due in Ak soonish and don't mind though happy to get from you and leave everyone else to their happy GC selves. I'm confusing. My head feels a bit seedy... Lol

  7. Burnout comp in helensville today... from 12pm or so into the evening. $20 to enter, $5 to spectate. Food on sale, DJ and Band playing- should be pretty churr! If keen its on right after turning off highway at roundabout efore you hit main township... will be a big sign and probably lots of cars/people. Mates company 'Tinmen' is sponsoring it putting up prize moneys etc. Have been told to bring my helmet as they have 3 cars entered so will def get a ride and possibly a fang... wooohoooo
  8. Sounds orsum. Will advise when items are won! You GC's be monitoring OS or shall I... feck it number is 02102921539 Churr!!
  9. So David... you were offering to collect from Evan and drop at stash house (caboonatlarge) correct?! And Damien, how much room you have in your north bound v-hickle? Thought be sweet to start moving some of this up island as car will be chocca when down for Nats... which will suck on trackday in hindsight, maybe I should tow Chuv down with the Rangi Rover... off topic, anyhow lemme know your situation on space and if you will have time to catch up with Mr Caboonatlarge... seems you two have mutual vehicular interests...! Anyhow Damien all going well have to drive out to Tuakau to pick up some Clydesdale harness gear next week (borrowing for horse show..) so could swing out and collect whatever you manage to bring up so it doesn't sit around for a-g-e-s! Cheers again fellas!
  10. Hi, not sure if you replied when I asked the other week. Is it OK I pickup in April when my car club comes to town?! If not is there no way you can send them, or I could have courier collect (will need them wrapped up- door cards only) or is auction for the lot?! Final option is seeing if I can get someone from car club to pick them up and stash/send for me.. Also do you have the rear door cards by backseat? Some mongol chopped speaker holes all over the show in mine! Cheers!! blondiecapella (412 ) 5:38 pm, Tue 6 Mar . 12:26 am, Thu 8 Mar Hi Evan, have found someone to collect. Ignore prev question! 13. nah mate will be nats and will somehow fit it all in car for trip home... or in many jafa bound cars... or will chuck out what I cant be fecked with... have too many spares as is!
  14. will find out what is actually there first in case it is windscreen bonnet etc etc blah... unless you have the space?! I'm not in a huge hurry just dont wanna miss out on them! Cheers both of yous, OS=GCville
  15. Right... picture update! Firstly are the pics when I first jacked the car up to see what was going on... As can be seen the crossmember is toast. The sump has been pretty damned scraped as well, sump plug is no longer hexagonal... that will be on the to do list... So last thursday I tore the car down... friday I stripped doner x member, cleaned/modified/painted etc (from a gemini- slitely gruntier) and Saturday I got it all back together. Gemini crossmember has extra gussetting on the bottom... with care and extra strength hopefully this doesn't happen again! Gemini crossmember has no holes... took it to my mate Tristan (who will be putting his details on here soon for rust/fabrication etc) who munched a hole on the drivers side for the steering union thingy to sit into. (wasn't sure this was necessary, but would rather have done this than not done it and have to pull it out again...) Bump stops needed some adjustment... Amazing how squished it was... the steering rack mounts were out by over 30degrees meaning the wheels were pointing in different directions. Another view of how mashed the steering rack mounts were. In all there was little modification required and little expense, mainly just time, a can of paint, brake fluid and the radiator stop leak which was my bad... Oh yea, this is a pic of the stud I had to grind, drill and retap to get new crossmember in... wasn't too hard in the end, was a little worried about it prior to jumping in and doing it. The things we do for slam... glad its all go again!
  16. Churr! Bid placed. These have been up for weeks so doubt he'll get another bid. Not clear if auction is for just the cards or everything he has written on auction (bonnet, windscreen blah blah which I don't really need but will take I guess) Anyhow all good, will collect when I'm down for Nats- assuming you are going?! Will get you the deets when the auction gets won!
  17. Can someone in Rotorua collect these if I buy them? The seller already sold me what he said was the last of his Chevette wagon stuff a few months back... Anyway door cards are exactly the same as whats in my Chevette wagon minus ugly speaker holes so must have them! If someone can collect and stash will sort you out some brews at OS Nats!! Cheers! http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... ermanent=0
  18. All good, was all like 'Oh no' when I found it but wasn't too hard to grind/drill/retap fredd... just meant a trip to troys to steal thread tapper but I go there almost daily to fetch pigfood from his olds so no drama there! Thought I was cursing the prev owner to you lol... Good yarning yesterday too... laters!
  19. Back together again... radiator weeping as I dropped the car off the block and squished it a little... have purchased some grunty as fuck stop leak to get me thru next month or 3... Bleed brakes is last thing to do... any westies got a spare half hour or so? Cold Vailima's await...
  20. (didn't quite make it... still in pieces but have painted x member drying ready to reassemble tomorrow... yay!)
  21. PPS: Forgot to mention undercarriage... exhaust was much better than I thought it may be... mild scrapes, havn't smashed off a muffler or anything bad. Floor pan is another story altogether... lots of carnage gone on there. Bashed up all over the show... Thank god this one is carpeted (well kinda...) it would irritate me like mad! Also so low it has popped most of the rubber floor bungs out so now I know where some of the wet stuff is from when I drive in the rain (very rarely... car is DANGER in the rain!)
  22. Right... some news. Finally got sick of my cunt mate not coming and finihing repairs of his shitty MR2 in my good garage and have pulled Chevette to pieces in my shit garage. Not impressed but was unwilling to wait any longer. Unimpressed I have found some rust too... but it is a Chevette, WTF was I expecting? The crossmember dropped after using an angle grinder on it, at some stage some monkey (sorry if it were you Boe-Rad) has replaced a bolt with a stud on a fixture which can only drop down vertically... chopped the crossmember at this stage, may be able to bend new fixture to slide over said stud and bash it flat again... may even get someone out here to pull stud out and tap new thread... we'll see. Have Gemini crossmember ready to pull down. Dbl wishbone suspension is cunty to remove springs from. So I took it to my mates and we ran a gas torch thru em. The springs in the Chevette are so small once you release shock they fall out. Love it. Anyway job for today is get spare x member on bench and strip it down, scrape off excess gunk and steam clean it, wire wheel it, steam again and go buy some type of paint for it. Hoping I can have it back together by this evening, photo's will be taken and posted when the busyness halts... Right now I have a Chuv which needs it's wheels so to the rescue I go! PS: Forgot to mention sump... oh dear. Scrapey scraped pretty bad, sump plug is ground down hardcore, is at back of sump on an angle so is missing the hole corner off the hexagon if ya know what I mean. Will replace when wide steels come off which will be as soon as I mash on my 14s (after replacing one of the tyres heheh) As you were!
  23. did everyone get done what they wanted to get done? got the other steamer... havnt played with it as yet. seems there is no return date either, hasn't been operated in some time, hope it goes good
  24. Went to look at Range Rover parts today... walked out having made a deal on a SWB Series 2 Landie... oops. Approve I also approve! me three
