  1. Well, if I had to pick between that and Clintaris then I would probably pick Clintasaurus So anyway. Mucho thankso for your advice. Just so I can clarify this situation here are a bunch of pics of the coilovers below (I went a bit overboard). Pretty much if where I have marked is welded, then it is a no-go on NZ roads? Which kinda sucks cause thats how they all look to be done, (im not sure how else you could do it).
  2. yeah but is it a steady signal, i.e. is something pulling it down when the chip triggers
  3. yeah, since you have a scope, leave everything connected (how you think it should be). What does the output of your voltage regulator look like (while running)? After that disconnect the stuff coming off the IC, and what do you get on the output directly off the IC?
  4. Mikey, explain to me what you are doing and what that oscilliscope output is showing. I may be able to help. Does your circuit convert a sine wave to a squarish wave to be read by a microcontroller and then output a true square wave?
  5. yea but that was a back screen which wasnt glued in?
  6. Yea what Bart said. I cut the whole screen out of my parts car with a sabre saw. It has the benefit of having something around it to support it while being stored. I've tried to remove screens before with about a 50 percent success rate. Even the pros smash them occasionally. It's not worth it. FYI the pros use a wire thing with a suction cup that goes on the inside and a cranking handle. One end of the wire goes through and then they just wind the handle. Still takes them a good 20mins
  7. Would be quite beneficial to have a co-pilot, especially on the journey home. I take it you have Friday off work? This thing is just Friday/Sat night right? I've also got monday off but not fussed on weather I go all the way back on Sunday or break it up. It is about a 9 hour drive for me. Yuck.
  8. You could jump in with me just dont stab or rape me... well the rape part is negiotiable. I'm probably going to drive to like Timaru on thursday after work, stay the night there and then do the rest on Friday in time for meetups in chch
  9. Hi Clintasaurus (and others), I am looking at some coilovers to solve my suspension woes on my Cima, I can only source them from Japan but thats another issue. 2 questions: I hear a lot of kafuffel about welding on struts however all the ones I am looking at (mostly "JIC" brand) seem to have some kind of mount welded to the side, example: Not the best pic but hard to find a better one, you can see a funny thingy welded to the bottom of the right hand strut. Is this Legal/Certable if it is "factory constructed" like that? Also, because I am dutch I will probably buy 2nd hand ones. Is there a problem with getting a generic coil-over certified, or do I need factory specs or other information on the make/model of the coil-overs? Your pal, Turkey
  10. Hmm not a regular thing to be honest but could try get it to that point eventually. Only thing is that the weather is gonna be pretty balls the next 3 months and it gets dark far too early.
  11. Can pick up you and shaz if you want plus others most likely but no need to lock me in if you find someone else, it's just me by my lonesome at this stage not in danger of filling up 8 seats
  12. wat new genes being added to the gene pool down here!?!? where you living.
  13. lol.... Fortunately there is now one less carb newb in the world. What I was cleaning out were infact the "slow" jets. Once I had a look at my rebuild diagram I found the main jets, and one of them had a tiny bit of white crap blocking the hole..... doh.. First post pretty much solved it. I will now surrender myself to the block for a well deserved ass reaming from everyone. Cheers folks.
  14. I pulled it off and managed to get carb cleaner squirting through where I think it should. But put it back on and no luck. If I unscrew the main jet and fill it with crc, it ends up squirting into the barrel. Then it starts briefly but then dies (probably just burning off what was in the main jet chamber). So the fuel isnt getting to the main jet? Also, if I pump the accelerattor pump up and down, should it be squirting fuel into the barrel? cause its not
  15. Nope it doesnt, well I cant try it while the car is cranking cause im the only one home, but it should still squirt some gas if its there even when not cranking right? Edit, so what can I do to check if theres shit under there? Sorry if it sounds like a newb question, i've rebuilt carbs before but all I care about is that it goes back in the same order, not what each part does
  16. So after harping on about how well it starts on the single carb, the L26 wont start. Fuel is being pumped to the carb I can see the right amount fuel in the window There is spark It fires when I spray ether in the carb It seems the carb is just not delivering the fuel? Anything easy I can do like try blow down the fuel line with compressed air? Cant be fucked pulling down the carb. The last time I had it running was saturday last week (just over a week ago) Cheers
  17. Those sections must have still weighed a fair bit, how'd you move em? Maybe not
  18. Currently lining up the third. Thanks for coming over, must have been just about the first invercargill OS meet. See you in October!
  19. Would probably just drive to Nelson lakes for free hotpooling tbh. I mean it's gonna take 9 hours anyway what's a few more. Plus I heard Alex was quite sexy.
