  1. Bubblegoose - you may be able to get away with the hydro handbrake if it can be disconected at the lever - ie you take a pin out and remove lever / use original or cable handbrake "to and from events", as hydro is supposed to be for race cars. you could become a member of a car club in your area and get a log book (can get one for cars that are not caged ie road car for autocrosses etc. then once you have done an event you have the log book to show mr officer/wof man. as for the cage im unsre as the only half caged car here was a TE71 corolla and it had intrusion bars left and right but was unregistered. Hope that helps

  8. Cheers guys found rust today ( well dad the warrant man did) - Damnit y does he have to be so hard on me at warrant time. Ill post pics up tomorrow - i put 2 new tyres on front and flipped the rears - they are mighty cross ply retreads mean for skids if the clutch wasnt gone. Also failed WOF for emissions which i knew it would - you give it a rev when shes hot and you cant see behind you - mean smoke screen thou.

  13. yeah i know! we were really after a 180B or ceddy wagon ( sold the mrs. 180B to pay for my wisdom teeth to come out so owe her a wagon now ), but this caught my eye and i just had to have it. Basically just gonna tidy it up and use it until we find something she likes, or until someone wants this one. I love it though!

  16. 1974 Toyota Corolla Ke36 2Door Wagon. (Panelvan as no rear seat) viewtopic.php?f=18&t=16892 Saw this on trade me after work today and just had to have it - went and had a look and fell in love. An hour later im the proud 3rd owner. Was originally used as a government vehicle from new and the guy i got it off owned it since '82 Just ticked over 98000 miles (motor smokes like a train) - reg on hold. Needs: Transplant engine or rebuild (Anyone with a 2 or 3k) New tyres (on the original cross plys) General tidy up Really wanted a Datsun wagon but this came up and dad has an 1974 SL coupe so this is a nice addition to the family. Bacically gonna tidy up - paint that rear window black and tind the rest so it looks a bit better. Everything is original seats/interior and no rust that i can find.
  17. Do you run the carbon canister?? i think it has something to do with that. My fuel reg runs off straight vacumn (phlenum) and i also run the vacum line that runs those "Secondary" butterflies in the inlet manifold direct vacumn. I think that is normally hooked to carbon canister or something cos it opens straight away so is little bit boggy down low sumtimes. Anyone got any pics of standard engine bay of CA18de engine bay???? to help us CA boys
  18. Yea needs a bit of a tune up and to get the idle sorted (keeps goiing up and down by about 500rpm when hot ) but apart from that seems to be going good. Will deff be at the next Trackday - wanna break 150ks - only managed 120 with a Series
  19. Just thought id start a discussion for my 120y. Ca18de was a fairly easy conversion to do and was done in 4 months from engine out to new engine in running and certed etc. Big ups to Dad for all the effort and hard work that he put into it for me. //oldschool.co.nz/index.php?/topic/22749-brocky41s-1978-datsun-120y-aka-tufdat/?hl=tufdat
  20. Engine conversion finished - had it all certed etc for labour weekend Datto Cruz in Taupo. Just the interior to tidy up now. Goes awesome (Tryed G-Tech and did a 16.7 with shit launch at 85mph). And is even more economical than the A15 that was in it. It has basically doubled the power from 69hp @ Engine to 145 @ Engine. Diff - dont know how long it will last.
  21. Nothing from dobi - only making new spring or compressing - will try other suppliers next week.
  22. After the barby - Fiesta of lights/ Christmas lights ( got the tremains maps ) haha
  23. Hey dude i work For Goodyear Karamu in Hastings - we do shocks and lowering etc - if you get the model code off the plate in the engine bay ill see what we can do for you. Cheers Brocky
