  1. deffinatly wired for an alternator. All the wiring seems to be correct, and doesnt appear to have been mucked with. Whats happening is that the charge light will show when the key is off, but as soon as its turned on the light will go out. If the alternator is disconnected the light will go out and remain out.

  4. Final Call for convoyers... Plan at this stage Me, ryanfels and possible uterus (if he wags tech), will meet at the Papakura service center at 10am, departing shortly thereafter... Will travel down SH1, turning off at Taupiri onto SH1B, will follow 1B into Hamilton and if any Hamilton peeps want to join they can meet us at Tramway Rd (just before East St - See Map above) around 11ish. After that we will rejoin SH1 in Hamilton and head to Tokoroa and catch up with Insani-T (if hes able to) to have Lunch, this will be around 1pm ish. Will continue onto Wairakei (the Steamy place) where we may pick up Testament (if he gets off work early enough). Then we will be off to Taupo for a final pit stop... then onto Napier where we will meet Lee... hopefully around 4ish If anyone wants to join the convoy (small as it may be) or wants a lift txt or call me on 021 295 4036 or 027 557 0012 so we can sort a meeting place and time.

  10. is it running lucas electics? and is it +ve or -ve earth? If so then normally a brown wire is one that has constant +12V (So is connected to the solenoid on the same post as the battery terminal) Those brown ones youve earthed are probably your headlights or some other accessory that isnt key controlled

Beers at my place up for offer A 2 post hoist would be mean as, but not a requirement Its a FWD, but North - South engine, so shouldnt be too hard (will be more like a RWD car clutch replacement, but cv's may have to come out, depending how far the box needs to go back)

    Propshaft

Seriously, dont do it yourself... Quite a few years back now, there was an incident on an Auckland Motorway, where a truck suffered driveshaft failure, due to an incorrectly lengthend driveshaft. The truck spat the shaft out the side while doing 90kph, shaft went onto the otherside of the motorway, and impaled a guy in the head in his ute, the ute cab was serverly shortened as was the guys life. Simply put, Never mess with a rotating mass, always get a pro to do it.
