  1. I have 16x7.5" BMW steels on my VH and no rubby rubby for me.
  2. Wouldn't ya know it, I went on Facebook and the original mirror seller who sent me the wrong side has just messaged me 20 minutes ago (while I was writing my update) saying he can sell me the right side now and will send it tomorrow if I want to buy it. Well isn't that dandy - it's like he read my update. LOL. Needless to say I have agreed. Hopefully it will get here by Tuesday.
  3. So it's been a while since an update. Quick rundown of whats happened since July. Spent the entire time trying to find a drivers mirror, have found a total of 3, two in Australia and one in New Zealand. Plus one more potential. The first one I found took forever to get the guy to send and when he finally sent it, he had sent me a LH side - even though I very clearly asked for a drivers side and he even sent me a picture of the RH to check I was happy with the condition. The second one in Australia I found, I agreed to buy it and was waiting for bank details then some fucking cock-hole came in and paid the guy more for it, so I lost out again. The third one is in Christchurch and even though the guy is super helpful, he seems to be too busy to take it off the car. Then today while I was working on the wag a random truck driver popped his head in to yarn after seeing it when he drove past. He told me of an XE in Upper Hutt on a guys lawn and even showed me on the map where it is. So I'll drive past his place tomorrow after work and flash some cash if he has a mirror. Fingers crossed I have better luck - if anyone else finds one in the meantime hit me up please. Other than mirror woes, what has been happening? Well not a great deal, exterior wise, it's almost identical after the panel repair, except I've taken the spotlights off and it's cleaned the front end up heaps. Nothing under the hood except for a new gas strut so I no longer need a broom to hold it up. It's all been interior stuff. Over the last few months I've bought a few bits of broken trim (still plenty left to still find and replace) Last weekend I started replacing what I could and at the same time I sorted out an absolute abortion of wiring behind the stereo. It was as if it has had 4 or 5 different aftermarket stereos fitted over the last 34 years and each one had taken it's own set of wiring pickups. There was so much unused and random wires behind the stereo. Spent a good half day just doing this and cleaning it up, plus I got the cigarette lighter working, and I have working speakers that don't sound like they've been filled with sand. Pretty happy there. I also found a replacement front bench after finding out my old one was just absolutely fucked, it was stuffed with old towel and bits of newspaper and even a couple of beer bottles were in there too. I found it in Hamilton and my good son @64vauxhall picked it up for me, gave it a wee birthday and then sent it down to me. I owe him a furious wristy for that. I got that in a few weeks ago but it didn't sit right and was squeaky as fuck, so pulled that out again last weekend when doing the wiring and have given it a bit of a touch with some silicone spray in the springs to hopefully shut it up. While I was there I decided I wanted to paint the door cards black. So I whipped those off and gave them a couple of coats of VHT vinyl spray - satin black FYI. It came up pretty good. Anyhow that's about it all. I took a bunch of pictures for before and after over the last few days but my phone must have had a bad trip and fucked out tonight. I literally have ONE photo that was left. So I'll post that here. This is 90% of all the changes to the car anyway. LOL This was the colour it was on the inside before I started swapping stuff around (photo stolen from internet) Have a few more things to do and will then begin packing for Wagnats next week. Whooop edit - oh yeah after driving to @Bistro and @LoveChild's place for New Years I got quite sunburnt and the inside of the car was a freakin glasshouse, so I got back and straight away got all the windows tinted to maximum legal darkness and the temp change inside the car is VERY noticeable. Very happy with that change.
  4. If The recipients of the respective Strokers choice trophies can do close up photos of them (like Manu's above) , I;ll add them to this thread and change them to a bit more like a build thread and start a wagnats history discussion thread.
  5. Nah he's not, he's in Canada at the moment. Will probably order a spare.
  6. @lowlife, @JasonK, @Mourning Cupcake, @Seedy Al, @baby k, @Steelies, @grunta, @Bistro, @LoveChild, @AllTorque, @Leebo3, @Beaver, etc
  7. So I've priced up to get some more Wagoneers plaques made up, who needs one? $50 a pop and you'll need to collect it from Vinegar Hill over Wagnats week. You also have to own a Wagoneer worthy wagon, of course and without sounding like a dick, not anyone can buy one, it is a badge of being a worthy Wagoneer. I'll be putting the order in next Monday so speak now or forever hold your piece. Spread the word. Orders KK Twizzler Niki the Bogan Terry Seedy Beaver Bizzo Drunken Kelvin
  8. Dig around the inside of the banjo bolt AND the inside of the threaded hole in the pump. Could be a mesh filter inside either/both.
  9. I don't know your pump exactly but I THINK this is the same as your pump and it has 2 banjo fittings. The latter picture looks like the pump inlet so I would presume that one is the culprit. But still take them both off and clean them out thoroughly
  10. Something easy to try... wind out the banjo nuts from the pump in and return. Blow the crap out of them or even run a small screwdriver around inside them to loosen the crud in there. They often have a stupidly small mesh filter inside them which can get blocked very easily with rust and general crap from the tank or from sitting in storage.
  11. Wagnats Seven - February 5-8 2016 Wagnats Eight - February 1-7 2017 Wagnats Nine - February 1-6 2018 So while this year isn't exactly "Wagnats 10" it's the tenth one if you count the first wag camp at Vinegar Hill way back in 2009. I'll probably add some fun tidbits to these posts as time allows, but I wanted to get this out 4 weeks before this years Wagnats to show you all what you are missing out on if you don't come along...
  12. Wagnats Four - February 2-10 2013 Wagnats Five - February 5-9 2014 Wagnats Six - February 4-8 2015
  13. Wagnats One - January 29-31 2010 A couple of memories The Rangitikei River rose over 2 metres overnight while we slept and we were camped right on the edge of the river. It could have ended very badly had it gone up much further. A good size contingent from Hamilton came down and partied like it was 1999. (this used to have a 2+ metre drop to the river) Wagnats Two - January 28-31 2011 Wagnats Three - February 1-6 2012 It was here that we finally settled on Watangi day being the central day for sacrificing blood, sweat and beers to the wag gods.
  14. So with this year being the 10th Wagnats, I thought I might start a thread running down the list of the fore-runners to this years upcoming event. (or at least how I remember it - feel free to correct me) Old School Nats 2008 - Beta Test/Early Access It all started back in mid 2008 when I was a fresh face on the oldschool scene and I was invited to the 2008 OS Nats, which was being held as a camp out at Vinegar Hill for that particular year. I guess this was the equivalent of a beta test version of the event even though we had no idea at the time. Wagnats Zero - April 10-13 2009 My memory is hazy around this part but it involved @Leebo3, @Steelies and @lowlife getting together at Beach-Hop in late March 2009 and discussing wagon roadtrips and camping with pals and a plan was created that we needed to merge these 2 different yet familial times into to get away for a weekend. It was at Beach Hop that year that we agreed on Easter in April 2009 to get-together, The first 4 wags to attend were. @Leebo3, @Steelies, me, @lowlife After returning from this first hastily thrown together weekend, we got right onto creating a bigger and better event for the following year.
  15. Ah. You have a 9 port head. The adaptors are for the 12 port head manifolds. (Varajet) Disregard my comment
  16. First time caller, long time listener. Just get an adapter from redline. They cost less than $14 and a furious handjob.
  17. Also those values are approx - it could be somewhere between 2.4 - 3.8 ohms or 1.2 - 1.9 ohms
  18. Measure the resistance across the primary circuit of the old coil. Coils that don't require a ballast (C-80/GT40 etc) have 3 ohms resistance and ones that are externally ballasted (C-80R/GT40R) have 1.5 ohms. Note - it may be K-ohms. I can't remember it's been fucking years since I've needed to measure one and I don't have my multi-meter in front of me to see what setting I normally put it to when testing.
  19. LOL. I was more meaning people who have to come in on the motorway.
  20. CEA negotiations stuff - all the normal to-ing and fro-ing. But the union have walked away from the table and rejected every single claim the company has made while the company has accepted every claim (except one) that the union has made. Although the only one that I care about is changing the wording from "you may be requested to work on public holidays" to "you may be required to work on public holidays" We run services 7 days a week including public holidays so having to go to each staff member and ask them to work on public holidays is a nuisance. Awww - miss you too. But I am not part of the union so Thursday is a normal day for me, and I am trying to get Christmas rosters out by Friday so will have to see how I go.
